Don't ever work for a family business. Even if it's your own family.

The thrill of self-employment and nepotistic opportunity wears off extremely fast and only leads to bad blood and a looming sense of dread. This is irrespective of the industry the family works inside of.

yeah, also don't ever loan money to family or friends.

I would go further. Never even hint towards financials when it comes to friends or family. If possible, have all your peers clueless as to your true wealth. Because when the iron strikes they WILL pressure you about it. This isn't in regards to emergencies. All your loved ones are fickle and in the right context may become money grubbing cretins if they think they can leech off you.
