I've only eaten at McDonalds twice this year before getting this job. I just started eating there regularly because free food. But now the managers are being hard asses about it for some reason even though I always show up on time and haven't done anything to earn their enmity .

You don't want to eat mcdonalds 5 fucking days a week. Every once in a while is okay, but almost everyday? A pizza is more like $20, unless you're getting a 1-topping carryout with a coupon. Regardless though, depending on how much he eats for free, he may not need to eat anything between shifts, or eat just a very light and cheap snack. If they take away the free pizza then, assuming he doesn't want to live on lentils and dirt, which I don't think he should no matter how poor he is, it takes about $120/week to feed a single person. That's a lot of money saved for someone who probably makes ~$350/week.

Seems like a decent perk to me, I've only worked in one restaurant but meals were 1/2 price which is probably basically at cost for most places. If you're working 5 days and can comp a $5 meal every day, that's $1300 a year of free food.
