Can someone help an economically illiterate lurker out here and explain why the status of crypto as a security is so important? As far as I can tell, securities are just non-liquid assets. Is declaring them a security just a fuck-you because it means they aren’t currency? Does it have a detrimental impact on what can be done with the crypto?
