Crypto's got a lot of different types here. You've got gamblers, speculators, farmers, and builders.

Most gamblers lose money, a few get rekt, a few make some money, and a tiny few win big.

Most speculators lose money because they buy high and sell low, while a others exhibit more lower time preference and make money, usually by a combination of luck, diligence, and mainlining irrational hopium that somehow pays off.

Most farmers get bled out on the value of their assets since they're farming shit with no intrinsic value, while a small few are living cozy NEET lives off of it, usually from reputable assets they got in very early on and held onto for a long time, or bought after exiting big wins elsewhere.

Builders are exceedingly rare here, but in my opinion it's where the future money is made in bear markets. There's little money to be made speculating or gambling, because the market is saturated with scammers and smart money with deep pockets looking for exit liquidity.

So it's advisable to build something with a sufficiently compelling narrative and use case to sell to smart money OTC and then exit together when the time is right, or better, hold onto and collect yield from if the project's useful, valuable, widely integrated.

Also, crypto has the lowest barrier to entry from a credentials standpoint as far as emerging tech industries go, aside from hobby-grade AI projects/services/startups cashing in on the hype, but the latter is not as easy to monetize.

With that said, /biz/ has focused plenty on other meme money-making strategies, and there are occasional substantive discussions on more meaningful strategies, though they're rare as they require a serious time investment a lot of anons are unfortunately unable to bring themselves to commit to.
