Renting property under 'market value's devalues real estate, so mega property owners would rather simply not open the doors and hope that they can sell/wait for renters that can afford it. What's the alternative? Should we do what asian cities do and build millions of 30-50 sq m condos? If you've ever been in Asia, you know how chaotic this makes the entire city and how much it stresses then infrastructure. They don't even have niggers and they still have these problems.
