It was a very convincing Johnson Matthey 1oz gold bar that passed the magnet test and had the correct dimensions nearly down to the millimeter.

I was able to track down the exact original origin, from one of those Chinese websites that mass produce the cheap stuff.
Not to say that he bought it directly from there, but that was its source and it ended up in his stack.

Back to the platinum bars, they have the very same fake look to them. I've been trying to find a similar obviously listed counterfeit, but I haven't been able to find any. My gut still rejects their look.

Kek, it didn't take long.
But the most intriguing part is how much it was spammed on /biz/. First to heavily fud silver, as if it would have any impact whatsoever on silver demand... showing how low IQ this campaign was.
And then to promote potential investments. Last week at some point there were like a dozen threads up at the same time shilling superconductors. With the same wording for most. It felt very inorganic and pushed.
As if anybody would give a fuck about this on the shitcoins' containment board to begin with, especially when no practical applications exist yet..

Counterintuitive but understandable considering the pretty bleak performances of Pt since mid-April highs. If the trend stay similar for another month we will be in $8xx territory, a great slurping opportunity imho. Over the past 20 years it only went this low on 6 occasions and refused to go any lower (not counting the 1 day blip of the march coof crash), probably because 800 bux must be AISC.

Wouldn't hurt to have some $$ ready to seize the opportunity.

Since these threads feel empty now and dead now I figure I might give some advice on stacking through my experience, 1 don't fomo over fear especially silver, there will always be someone wanting to sell their stack,2 dont fomo over a deal beacusw you scared it'll go away ,I spent 2k on a saint gaudens in less than vf on pmsforsale a month ago ,but now liberty.com has a deal on a bu 20 dollar liberty head for 2033,had I waited a month longer I could've gotten that good deal ,3 wait on spot lowering if you can afford to ,if spot went back to 2k don't worry ,it'll go back down again it always does ,didn't buy at that high price but I bought at the 1970 spot range a couple months back ,had I waited I could've gotten more gold than what i have now, still in the green but y'know,4 don't buy generics ,their silver is made from apmex silver and sounds dull when you do a ping test ,90 percent is more verifiable than generics, basically anything that has copper weather gold or silver will have a recognizable ping to it,5 don't watch silver youtubers they sell fear and false hopes of silver mooning to get you to buy from their sponsor, gold makes better gains but again wait for the good deal ,really that's all there is to it ,don't fomo when you can wait a while longer to get a good deal

Well, the dollar is no longer politically neutral thanks to Biden, so various countries will continue to seek divestment of whatever dollars they hold. This means that more and more of the inflation we have been exporting since the 60's will come home as it makes it's way back here.
As for metals: silver should no longer be considered a precious metal, but an industrial one. Demand for it will continue to spike up while supply continues to shrink. So its price will have to rise relative to inflation eventually, or else none will be left. Gold will get more valuable due to it likely being the first choice countries dropping the dollar turn to.

>what will happen to the dollar in the next 5 years
I think what’s going to be far more interesting is what happens to everyone else except the dollar. All other fiat schemes are in a demonstrably worse position than the dollar simply by virtue of the fact that they are downstream of the dollar in the pyramid. Western nations have massive wellfare entitlements that will make a switch to a sound money system impossible, the only way forward is to reinflate the currencies as the various banking systems near collapse.

I think America is going to see a massive influx of dollars coming back home. This is allready happening as capital flees the other hyperinflating economies, but at some point it won’t just be capital inflows it will be asset sales. What was that story the other day where a bunch of chinese companies hold like a trillion dollars in US treasures, because they are “privately” held they don’t need to be reported the same way which means the CCP may have built themselves a nuclear option to attack the dollar without knee capping their own economy too severely. What will America do when all her dollars come flooding back home? All they will have is dollars and nothing else.

Rarity. All commodities will do well and the one bull thesis PMs have for them is value density. I have 100 pounds of copper pennies and it is extremely heavy and takes up a large amount of room for only being worth (on paper) several hundred dollars. The world is going to need copper and aluminum tin and nickel far more than it is going to need trillions of dollars so in that sense they will always do well. The thing that seperates PMs from base metals is people's need for safe storage of wealth once the bond market starts destroying the paper-ponzi. Millionaires and boomers and everyone is going to need a place to hide and there will simply not be enough to go around once it gets into the mind of the masses that catastrophic inflation is undermining their purchasing power.

Guys, I just had a thought. While many of us are waiting for the silver price to moon, it's worth getting into the mindset that the ones controlling the market will close it if it does. I say this because it has already happened recently with the nickel market. This means that price discovery is going to have to happen outside the western markets we're using today. This sounds good in theory, but you would be selling your metals for a foreign currency that you probably won't be able to trade into other goods in your own country.

With this in mind, what systems can you think of for everyone to get around this market control?

That’s right, you stack so that no one controls your life. Sounds money systems have built the built in fail safe whereby the people can withdraw the convent of the governed by hollowing out the money system of its gold. When they moved us all to fiat schemes they removed this natural governor on the states inflationary desires. One way or another, we will force the system back. This is why hyperinflation is inevitable, necessary, and natural. It is the social body’s immune system response to the persistent theft of their labor energy. When all else fails, you have to burn out the pathogen with a devastating fever.

In such a scenario, silver would not work as an inflation-hedge in the ordinary sense at all, by which I mean that you couldn't do a [now-dollar]-[sillver]-[then-dollar] trade by clicking a few buttons on some broker platform. If the stereotypical catastrophe happens, e.g. 10,000% inflation, COMEX/LME defaulting, etc., then the financial stress would be so great that you would actually have to use silver as a physical currency, i.e. you'd be paying for stuff with silver coins "OTC". I suppose even literally OTC if you imagine doing this at a store.

It's an attempt by morally corrupt autocracies and dictatorships to avoid intended 'corrective' controls from western democratic ethics and ideals.
They will likely succeed in creating an alternative to the USD as a backing to their currencies. Whether they succeed in becoming the dominant currencies is not inevitable, though possible. Even if, it will take long enough that anyone should have time to mitigate financial disaster.

Yes, but its not a matter of "democratic" ethics or ideals, its a matter of master and slave, and in todays world there is only one master attempting to stave off a plethora of scrappy slaves. The ends justify the means, and if the most effective means is to blither on about virtue, values, and democracy all the while knifing every little servile nation that steps out of line then that's what the U.S. will do, but unfortunately the slave's have had enough, and it seems they want some recompense for their labors.

It's still engraved deep into their culture, but gold jewelry is currently being pushed towards the younger generations at the same time. So it's going to be both, leaning more towards silver over time once supply issues start making prices rise which will increase the opinion of silver as more than money. I blame the current reduction of silver popularity from the past heights on the negative issues with the opium wars and the lack of silver in chinese kitchens of the past due to porcelain popularity and chopsticks.
https://www.coinworld.com/news/world-coins/china-issues-belt-and-road-forum-silver-gold-commems.html Considering this is what current China thinks economically of silver and gold then it should show you the value the government itself puts on the metal in denominational terms.

Only pre FED my money is on, maybe the die issue might protect junk morgans from 1914-1921 and junk barbers 1914-1916 but anything else that's been minted by the fed is essentially fair game that's not numismatic. Foreign might not count, it didn't in the past for usable silver coinage but silver is no longer in use for transactions as regular currency, so it's likely to get the same treatment as gold did if the law comes back into play. Honestly better off buying bars or rounds over constitutional/junk since it's easier to make into something legal to trade and less of a premium on it, but that's on whoever is buying. P.S. you might get away with plastic/3d printed belt buckles/pendants/bracelets/ect. that can hold your coins to potentially get around said law unless it's weeded out, so you might want to figure out how to use a 3d printer if you stack just in case.

If the gov outlawed bullion, they would "fix" any loopholes that existed before. Not that it would matter. Noncompliance is the word of the day. The whole reason we have pre-33 today is because grandpa didn't give a fuck about the gov. More recently, ATF issued their pistol brace rule and had about 250,000 out of an estimated 10-40 million registered. Fuck em.

Also it wouldn't have much impact on silver: silver is primarily in solar panels and high-end electronics which both get very hot during usage so a room temperature super conductor would get too hot and would start to resist the electrical current. So your phone would become very slow during high loads and your solar panel would lose most of it's power production during the day.

Nonsense. Silver is best in class on several fronts including conductivity, thermal conductivity, most reflective, as well as part of the strongest alloy we know of. To assume humanity is going to just sidestep this amazing element because we FAILED to invest in the infrastructure needed to maintain supplies at the behest of BANKERS running a PONZI SCHEME is comically laughable. When the bond market implodes people will be looking for safety regardless of the current use of elements.

Constitutional is the comfiest silver to stack, I’ve got nothing against 999 and still love to stack it but there’s some ineffable quality to junk that 999 doesn’t possess.

If push comes to shove the government can do what it wants, and if they went that far I don’t think they’d differentiate much between getting caught with a load of pure silver jewelry vs a pile of junk silver.

Wrong. This is actually an asset because it forces the BRICS to go with gold. Unless they tie their currency to gold and make it redeemable, they can't even trust each other. The fact that it is a den of thieves means that they must among themselves have a system that will ensure transparency.

And, by the way, there is no bigger gang of thieves in the world than the US government. They would take the food right out of your children's mouths if they could and anyone who believes otherwise is a dupe.
