To answer the question whether you should end yourself, you first need to answer why you are alive in the first place.

Only when you can answer the purpose of your existence, you can say whether you should stay or go.

"I dont know" or "because my dad jerked into my mom" does not count because it means you havent even figured out why you are existing, so how can you possibly make a decission to end it or not? Thats like asking your google maps how to get to end point B without being able to tell it where starting point A is. Clearly you lack half the information.

So go figure out why you live before you think about death.

Sure, life itself doesn't have any point or defined goal that you should aim for, but that's the beauty of it. You get to decide your own purpose!

Even at 36, it isn't too late. Spend some time thinking about what's important to you and then define some goals for yourself. After you do that, make sure you take some small action every day that brings you closer to your ultimate goal.

Islam answers this problem. This life (the “dunya”) is nothing. In fact, the word dunya has a negative connotation to it to further emphasize that it’s worth nothing. I describe “happiness” in a similar way that the word “cold” is described. Cold just means the lack of heat. You don’t make cold air, you’re simply removing the heat from the air and transferring it somewhere else. Similarly, happiness is just a lack of sadness. People aren’t really happy, they’re just less sad, but even then, that happiness is just a temporary feeling until they become sad again. People can lie to themselves and others, but no one is ever in a state of bliss. That feeling is only reserved for those who obtain paradise in the hereafter.

People get what they want, then get bored of it, then move on to something else. This is why a lot of rich people and celebrities commit suicide. They fill their lives with materialistic things until they’ve experienced it all, but it never fills the void within them which eventually leads to severe depression. From depression, they’ll move on to drugs/intoxicants which commonly leads them to suicide or other dark paths if they don’t ever find a way to recover from it.

It’s changed my life completely and I’ve never been more at ease since I accepted it. I’m the guy from office space at the end. Work problems, family problems, money problems, etc. don’t phase me anymore because of this higher purpose that I’ve been made aware of. You should really look into it

Don't you have friends? Relatives? Girlfriend? Anyone in your life you can talk to? If yes, then reconnect with them. Thing is, people get depressed when isolated. I used to be depressed all the time. Turns out all I needed was God, a community and people to talk to. Now I have a wife, a baby and a job. I'm by no means rich, live in a 3rd world country but it's a fulfilling and happy life. Money doesn't buy happiness anon, you've been lied to by your 1st world overlords peddling you this lifestyle that money is the only thing that matters.
