Techbros don't really have any choice but wagecuckoldry.
It's a skillset with little to no personal value.

Even at the company wide level, most tech enterprises are just growth ponzis that will never turn a profit. Structurally flawed business models. They exist as jobs programs. The whole point is an endless ESOP dilution train to dump shares on retail traders and passive 401ks.
At least MSFT is not one of those.

BOJ buying 10y bonds at 1%. I’m confused.

So is this a reverse repo? Because Japan 10yo bonds are at 0.5% rn. Are they borrowing (taking a loan in bonds) from financial institutions to suck up liquidity or are they flooding the market with money thus reducing yen value relative to usd?? But they also want to increase rates?

>In economics and finance, a Glownigger Market is said to occur when a country's financial policymakers begin manipulating econometric data for their political benefit. [1] This may be accompanied by organized propaganda campaigns, hidden monetary easing, as well as other forms of financial repression, in order to reinforce the illusion that a nation's troubled economy is sound and resilient. [2, 3] In a Glownigger Market, stocks may seem to rally, even irrationally so, in the face of worsening economic conditions. However, while the goal of a Glownigger Market is to either delay or prevent a politically undesireable financial correction from occurring, the policy actions that led to the Glownigger Market invariably increase the severity of the subsequent financial crisis. By attempting to overpower healthy corrective market forces, a Glownigger Market causes extreme capital misallocation that can turn a minor economic downturn into a severe and protracted economic depression. because the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. and by ''you'' i mean funds who need to show constant profit to their stock holders but also their clients.

also the price of oil is consequence of growth. when there is growth oil rises.

Why would they? If they are sufficiently evolved to NOT have destroyed their own planet through their own version of world wars, then they're intelligent enough to value life, diplomacy, mutual self respect, and so on. The aliens-are-a-threat shit or belligerent-paranoid-fuckers-that-will-destroy-us is just dumb.
There's an equal chance stumbling upon a Mass-Effect/Star Trek like society as stumbling upon a galactic empire one that would enslave or destroy us.
Only, the latter is less likely because this would be the equivalent of those shithole communist and/or corrupt countries. Those can't even achieve anything on a regional level, let alone on a planetary level, and certainly not on a galactic level.
Only a a free society has the capacity to elevate itself to conquer the stars. As God intended. This is why first contact is far more likely to be with a benevolent society.

>Explain to me why I shouldn't hold leveraged ETFs for more than a day?
I can't, because you should.
>b-but muh decay
Literally a non-issue on such broad stock indexes, because indexes are designed to go up by kicking out the shit companies while having the good ones be part of the group. Now, don't expect to do 2x or 3x over the longterm depending on the vehicle you chose. It actually may be way more than 2x or 3x, because "decay" ALSO works on your favor when it goes up (and remember, it's designed to go up). Now you could also have to cash out at a bad moment in a crash, making the 6x returns you build since then go to shit. But even when it goes to shit, you end up at worse at 1x, as it historically shows.
So those leveraged ETFs are literally "If heads, I do I do 2x, 3x, whatever x that is more than 1x. If Tails, I do 1x".
And this is why you should go with leveraged when you DCA and tend to hold if for decades. At worst you'll just end up doing the index. At best, you'll multiply it. No reason not to use the vehicle.

yield of long term bonds are worthless, you either pile into short term as a way to protect yourself against inflation or you take a position in long term expecting their yield to either go up (short selling) or go down (going long) so that you can reap the benefits of the change in face value of those bonds.

if 10yr went down to 1% yield the face value of a bond goes up 60% I believe or so at the moment.

I did really well with PPC sometime within a few weeks ago. I look for stuff that is within 10% of 52 week lows but has overwhelming amounts of BUY/HOLD recommendations, and a P/E of 25 or less. inflation has been coming down for demand destruction reasons - that came true
the narrative of recession instead of inflation also was the most important narrative of 2023 - it just didn't manifest (yet) - the soft landing / no landing (recession or no recession) is the whole reason why the market rallied
the Fed did raise and hold, and intends to hold through 2024
the dollar did fall, due to the Fed being less aggressive, and it did make commodities rise - look at the performance of GCSI (commodity index) and the dollar - look at oil, look at gasoline
Inflation is also returning, JPM, BAC, GS have all issued reports arguing that this was the last good inflation print for the year, that now base effects are gone all future prints will lead to higher numbers, which will require more aggressive policy
unironically everything that anon said has come true, the only part that hasn't is the recession hasn't manifested yet, and the market has remained at 20x forward earnings, 1.73 STD wilshire 5000 ratio - valuation expanded while earnings fell

>The base effect is the effect that choosing a different reference point for a comparison between two data points can have on the result of the comparison. This often involves the use of some kind of ratio or index value between two points in a time-series data set, but can also apply to cross-sectional or other types of data.

>Thinking about the base effect in comparing different numbers or pieces of data means considering the question, "Compared to what?" The choice of the basis for comparison can have a large effect on the apparent result of a comparison. If ignored or misunderstood, the base effect can lead to a major distortion and possibly mistaken conclusions. However, if considered carefully, it can be leveraged to improve an analyst's understanding of the data and the underlying processes that generate them.

I don't have a short position this week - it doesn't ever make sense to take a short position for a week with earnings + Fed etc, due to the expected volatility and hedging that has already been done
Everybody hedges for the event by buying excessive puts, even if the event is terrible, the put walls and dynamics of unwinding of hedging where those cashing in their puts causes MM to be able to buy shares back in their delta hedging - there is just too much liquidity on the table with the ability to stabilize prices if they move too far in one direction
That anon was too early - too many hedges / virtually impossible to break 4500 with that many hedges in place

How do you not understand that oil, gasoline are the most important out of every commodity for inflation? Transportation costs affect every aspect of the economy
Sugar, cocoa, grains also soaring - which are also in nearly every food product
We have also heard from a ton of corporate earnings that they expect their costs to increase sharply, that there is more inflation coming

Oh you don't want to get into the core picture, much less the supercore one.

I am waiting for VIX gap to fill around 12
I think that this gap will be filled, and only after that point is it worth considering building a short position - I think that they will continue to crush VIX until that gap is filled - if there are interim spikes up in VIX before then, they'll be false breakouts ultimately leading to the gap being filled
I am looking to build a short position most likely mid to the end of August, which I will close out by end of October to mid November

Oh my fucking god what a coincidence, as soon as the faggot bears show up and start tossing around pixelated charts speculating on which measure of inflation is the best one, the market can't pick a direction. Almost as if a bunch of shortsighted dumbshits are shorting almost entirely because "it's too high". And the cycle repeats...
