The lead in lead paint would do basically nothing to protect you from radiation. Lead is not some magical anti-radiation substance, it is just dense, cheap, and easy to work with. For stuff like X or Gamma rays, you block them by having as much mass as possible between you and the radiation source; lead being quite dense (roughly twice the density of steel) lets you get plenty of mass in a thin, cheap package for shielding. Paint, whether it is leaded or not, will not add any significant amount of mass between you and a radiation source. If you want to radiation proof your house you would want thick brick or concrete walls.

Lead and copper are pretty common materials. I guess lead is the one who will increase in value since we already have all of our infraestructure made of copper so if we had to change it to that superconductive material we would need to add lead.
Still this is pointless without knowing how much lead and copper needs to be used for a gram of the superductive material, how it will be implemented and if it will be worth to do so for large scale aplications.

>how much lead and copper needs to be used for a gram of the superductive material
The metal component in the final material is almost all lead, copper only remains as a dopant. By mass, 1 g of LK-99 is 0.75 g Pb. To make it they mix 1:1 atom ratio (not weight ratio) Pb:Cu, the final atom ratio is about 9:1, so the evaporate a lot of copper in their furnace. So an improved synthesis should get away with using much less copper.
tl;dr focus on lead and phosphorous
>how it will be implemented
Everywhere. It will be used everywhere.
>will be worth to do so for large scale aplications
A huge cost for the grid is water cooling near power generation sites. This will eliminate the need for cooling. It's worth it.

I say 10% chance this discovery replicates. If it does our relationship to technology will change almost overnight. Worth trying to invest, for sure.

Now, as a brainlet that never invested in metals or futures, wat do?
