Highly contrary to popular opinion around here, especially from the "I MAKE 400K+ PER YEAR FROM MY WFH CODING JOB BAHAHAHAHAHAHA" crowd.

I've worked in the tech industry for over 5 years, and I've come to the conclusion that the industry is overtly toxic (which is not public knowledge). Here's a high level of what you'll experience:
> First of all, those $300k+ jobs is like finding a diamond in the middle of an African warzone. It's certainly possible to find one, but you'll get shot, bruised, starved, etc. In other words, finding these jobs aren't nearly as common as you think. It only applies to the financial industry and FAANG.
> Don't even get me started on the management. Horrifically out of touch with their teams, narcissistic, nepotism hires.
> Every team doesn't know how to communicate with one another, partly due to high rates of spergs, j33ts, malplacements, nepotism, etc.
> Hardly any room for advancement unless you job hop every couple of years
> EXTREMELY prone to recessions - the first job cuts in every recession normally involve tech sales and codemonkeys
> Vulnerable to gradual AI takeover in the future
> H1B visas will continue to crush the wage growth
> Extremely saturated now - good luck even finding a job

For those of you considering a CS degree or something with IT, my advice - don't even bother now.

I'm trying to warn everyone what they're getting themselves into with tech, but alas, spergs on 4chan aren't interested or go "lalalalalalala i didn't hear you lalalalalalalala"

Either that, or there's been an exodus from 4chan as of this past week.

Anon...I...now this is a YOU problem. At the very most you work with a CS degree for 1-2 years MAX to save to launch your own startup. Because you are incapable to do so because you lack vision(99% of wagecucks do) you have ZERO reason to complain.

we really need a recession to buck break all the arrogant retards in tech

Idk man, I've only ever been good with computer since I was a kid. Now I work in IT without a degree, I agree that there is so much bullshit to deal with, but honestly even if I wanted to do something else what could I do? I hoped tech would be more about learning new skills and applying knowledge, but it turns out it's all about sending bullshit mails all the time.

this is like what accounting is now - its basically strictly for women and midwits because everything is automated. automation requires anyone with skill to either create their own business or max out your credentials and only work at the senior level. anything else is pointless

I'm learning sales now. I suggest you do the same.

It's the bedrock skill by which all success is created. Some may argue learn marketing instead, but marketing really is just indirect sales.

Sales isn't only being in call centers & door to door cold pitching.
