I can take a 180k job in Houston or take the same job in NYC for 220k
Financially speaking what makes more sense here?

Houston is probably the better bet. I make around $200k in metro Atlanta and feel very comfy.

Houston for sure. That 220k in NYC is more like 40k. It’s almost quarter million a year, yet you’ll be living on scraps over there. 180k in Houston isn’t like you’ll be living large, but you’ll be comfy.

Depends on what you are into.

Thanks to Covid NYC is a little cheaper than it once was. You'll definitely pay more than Houston, but COLA won't be double.

I would just pick the one that you think would be more fun. I would probably pick NYC over Houston. If you look hard you can find a reasonable place to live, yeah it will be more than Houston but NYC has a lot more to offer.

Houston obviously. you'll be a poor nigger in NYC or just a pretty comfy fag in Houston.

you'll never be a woman though either way

Hot shit hole with low cost of living vs. cold shit hole with high cost of living.

I grew up in Houston so I'm biased but it has great food and nicer people. Its also miserably hot and humid and the mosquitos will murder you. Travel to beaches and tropical destinations is easier and cheaper from Houston. The women in Texas are also hotter.

Depends on your age and if you’re single. If you’re younger and single definitely nyc. If you’ve got a family, or a serious girlfriend, and want something more low key, then Houston. Personally I’d pick nyc in a second

NYC will cost you an extra 20k a year in taxes and probably 20k in rent. So you'll come out about the same with money. Depends on if you want a sprawling, boring suburban city, or a dense, energetic, lively city

Depends on the lifestyle you want. 220k in NYC is really nice, you could gain some experience and enjoy yourself for a for years.

Houston is like going straight into retirement unless you have a rock solid community. It's a nothing city for young people with no connections. But you can buy a nice place and just live in it surrounded by nothing.
