This is honestly the stupidest business move on the planet. That company had exclusive access to the word "tweet" for the use in advertising and branding. It was basically about as common in the lexicon as the phrase "google it". By changing the term, the company is essentially just telling the world that it's a generic term that any company can use. Legally speaking this is like saying to competitors that truth social truths can now be referred to as tweets or that facebook threads are now tweets. This isn't 4d chess, this is blundering your queen.
