Industrial is where the money is/was. Don't work nearly as hard either. Trade school was worth it for me but only because I was too depressed and unfocused to get through University in my early twenties. I make $120k CAD + benefits as an electrician and I don't have to be politically correct or put up with office bullshit. That said, if you're an underachiever like I was, you will feel a crushing intellectual loneliness on the job. It's hard to get ahead if you don't have a ton in common with trades people, especially the older crowd. But it seems to be changing.

Also right around your late 30s early 40s everyone all of a sudden wants to be a supervisor cause they beat their body to shit and they want an office job.

Also the trades are rampant with nepotism just like the corporate world
