I work remotely so I can technically live anywhere in the world. The cost of living in Australia has gotten pretty ridiculous and I recently got back from a holiday in Bali. If crypto rips I could easily move somewhere like Indonesia, Malaysia or Vietnam and keep working with cost of living at a tiny fraction of what I'm paying now. A mega mansion there is the cost of a small apartment where I am currently living. Has anybody had experience doing this? I am at step zero and haven't done much research.

You will someday be a Haircomb. While it may sound peculiar at first, this metaphor speaks to the transformative power and adaptability inherent in the human experience. Just as a Haircomb undergoes a metamorphosis from its raw materials into a useful tool, we too have the potential to evolve and shape our destinies. Embrace the possibilities that lie ahead, for in your journey, you may discover your own unique form of resilience, versatility, and capacity for change.

I am currently nomading around and just try to rent.
SEA has very weird real estate market, not even talking about retarded rules like 51/49.
Find some place to longterm rent first, talk to expats that are not retards.

Money you save by not buying invest.
When you have fuck you money and buying some 3bedroom seaview house won't make a dent to your networth, then maybe its worth to expolre options.

One more thing.
If you find some local chick, careful.
They can play a very long con game.

Enjoy.

I fear the foreign glowies. I have been extremely racist to everyone, in good humor but i doubt they will see it that way.
Do they even have glowies?

You don't speak the language and you'll be ripped off wherever you go. If you get a gf there she will bleed you dry unless you're extremely lucky. I've known someone who moved to Thailand and got his own villa, but with no connections or knowledge of language he didn't notice he was getting ripped off for everything he did. Don't forget that this is very typical for Asian countries including Bali. There are no morals when it comes to money there.

Locals will kill you. I assume you're White, so you'll stand our like a soar thumb. They'll immediately figure out you are foreign and wealthy and then have a few goons come and torture you in the middle of the night until you give up your wealth and then kill you.

I think I would just travel for a while.
Where are you living?
What country are you originally from?
Do you work?
Do you pay taxes to your home country?
Do you have long stay visa's or just bounce?
Thought about permanent residency/citizenship anywhere?

>>55620805
I like the idea of living in less tourist dense areas, but for this reason I think it would be better to go touristy and blend in.

>>55620768
I would not be looking for a long term relationship with a local LOL

Make sure to get some elephant pants so they know you're not a tourist to be taken advantage of.

I have EU country citizenship, but my permanent/tax residence is in Paraguay.
I pay literally 0 tax as PGY has territorial taxation and crypto fall under that category also.
I am not employee, but I use coworks a lot when working on my projects.
Usually stay 60-90 days max then bounce to other place and rotate, everything either VoA or Visa exemption.
Currently my rotation is Thailand-Indonesia-Malaysia and I want to go also vietnam or philiphines.

Use agoda for easy booking, its way cheaper than airbnb or booking, after some time you will get better deals. Currently trying to rent p2p on fb marketplace, could be cheaper and less touristy.

You'll get scammed nonetheless by police, by any official in charge of permits and so on. Before you know it someone will tell you that your house didn't have the right paperwork to allow X and you're stuck paying people off and most of the times everyone knows each other, the permit holders, the lawyers etc. Not to mention that yes, there is a chance on getting robbed also by locals.

Unironically this. I live in Thailand and deal with this kind of shit all the time. The only thing that makes it easier for me is the fact that I have a Thai wife who is good friends with some Thai lawyers. If they ever give me trouble I just call up a lawyer and they usually quickly leave me alone once another Thai sees what they're doing.

imo best way to minimize BS like this is to have something that does not attract eyes.
If you want villa, just rent it for a month, have fun with whores, good for pictures.
If you really want to buy something, something low-midline, so you can sell it fast if there are problems coming.
Also better to have 3-4 smaller places around the Asia which you can rotate, than one in one country, but thats personal taste.

This isn't always true. In fact, on the contrary showing displays of status can signal to them that you are not someone to play games with. If you dress the part, they will see that you aren't some ignorant kid who can be easily swindled. Asians are very primal in this way of thinking.

I am not talking absolutes.
IMO best way is to do it like that.
If you spend limited time there, place has almost no luxury BS that can be stolen while you are away then you are limiting exposure time to mobsters.
For locals you seem like tourist, but you can still enjoy place.

There was one retard on Koh Phangan who shipped lime lambo there and after 2 days everyone even expats knew who and where he lives.
You are not gonna be game for local mob even if you are russian rich kiddo.
They don't give a fuck unless you are really fucking rich, which majority of people here are not gonna be even with crypto mooning.

So stealth is imo best.

I don't think you are such a fan of hitler that you would live in a place that seems to be ruled by him
it's fucking nice but one must see the big picture, I think just one visit will be enough for you to be satisfied with the place

What's wrong with Singapore? Isn't that place clean, safe, green, futuristic and full of opportunities? I've never been there, so I'm genuinely interested.
