yes raising a human being can be a lot of work. but i've met a lot of women who are stay at home moms. their hardest job with a small baby is having their tits painfully sucked so they just lay there and do that. then they change diapers. and they run low on sleep. most of the rest of the day they do online shopping, take naps when the kid takes a nap, etc. they're basically NEETs except they have to make sure a kid is alive.

as for kids that are bit older than a baby, it gets to be a bit more work making sure the kid doesn't drown itself in a pool or run into traffic or something, and they still run low on sleep. but still 80% of the day is cutting up apples or some shit and just keeping an eye on the kids. they can be rambunctious but it's really not that hard if you live with them. much easier than laying tiles in a roof and breaking your spine every day at work or something like that. it's a different kind of challenge but imo, stay at home moms are just NEETs with more responsibility and slightly less comfort.

when I finally got my first serious long-term gf, I was amazed to see just how many little privileges women get. It was insane how much easier her childhood had been than mine, mostly because authority figures put special emphasis on protecting girls and making sure their feelings aren't hurt. I talked to her about things that were expected of me by authority figures growing up and she could not fathom it. It manifests itself everyday in the present too. Just going to the supermarket, employees are so much more polite to her. It's comical when I check out after her - she gets "Hi there! When I was in college I had a friend who was attractive, would dress well and had a very bubbly, approachable air about her. She was also extremely clumsy. The brain will rewire itself to enjoy life in any circumstances if there is enough stability to maintain the circumstance. Of course, people have the power to prevent this by choosing to think overly negatively, or positively, about the circumstances. There was a study done awhile ago about how therapy itself might not always be beneficial as it can lead to obsessive thought patterns focusing on past trauma and prevent actual development in the subjects because there is nothing more to be learned from the trauma and they are just reliving it over and over to no benefit. I.E it can be beneficial to talk a little about trauma to learn from it and how to deal with it but overtalking has the opposite effect.
Unfortunately you will need to find that study yourself as it was not very popular among psychologists(whose income depends on the opposite) and victims(who are incentivized into victim mentality through attention).
