Whats the point of working and saving money when cost of living outpaces the rate I can save money?

I make 80k a year and live paycheck to paycheck and my boomer parents call me a lazy fuck for not owning a house and having a family. I am 29.

Has anyone reverted to become a NEET again? I am unironically considering it because of how fucking pointless my life is right now financially speaking. hard work for nothing
