If there’s only 21 million btc and the price goes to 1 million, what’s stopping a mega whale from just buying the whole market for 21 million? They would control the whole market and end crypto for ever.

The price of Bitcoin would go up too fast for anyone to sell - everybody would see the fiat debasement and hold on to the only digital asset in existence. Nobody wants to exchange their Bitcoin for zimbabwe dollar.
