/pmg/ retard here with a serious answer: it's pretty accurate. If you read Selco's famous SHTF account, you'll read how women were selling sex for one can of food. See picrel; it doesn't cost much silver to buy a substantial amount of food in Venezuela.

>>55564418
>>55564454
See picrel. It costs about 21.2ozt silver to live without working in Venezuela right now. 1,000ozt would be enough to live without working for ~47 years. Upgrade to 1,272ozt silver, and that's 60 years in Venezuela.

I understand why some people are leery of boomer rocks. But it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

You cannot exchange money 21st century with historical currencies which were altered by a thousand factors in life and weren’t debased by usury. Even if you had one piece of silver hold the same purchasing power as one piece of silver today, it would not tell us much of anything because their needs and use of money was different than ours

it's not happening my man, the same way they wont pull the plug on water supply and electricity. you need to get out of your little conspiracy bubble. even in a complete shithole like venezuela with hyperinflation, people prefer to transact in fiat (usd) than in gold. same in all hyperinflating countries. because there isn't enough usd bills around they're forced to transact in gold. currencies backed by gold and crypto will exist before an hypothetic usd hyperinflation.

Yes, but the ratio people use is when silver was legal tender in the 1800's.

In the 1800's silver was much harder too mine, it required a shit-ton of manpower, there wasn't much of a global supply chain and the logistics would've been a pain in the ass shipping it around.

Today silver is used as an industrial metal, it's not being used as legal tender. The economy is globalized, the logistics are much smoother and almost everything is done by machines now.

I'm a pro-gold/silver guy, but the retardation (to duh moon!), faggotry (scammers) and schizoposting (doomers) have turned it into a cult of blithering idiots, throwing their life-savings away just to hoard a pile of metals and LARP as scrooge McDuck before the apocalypse.
