As a 2016fag I'm going to go on the record and say that bear market was even worse than 2018/19. The level of bullshit, the fall from grace, the regulatory pile on... That fucking sucked.
If you held and stayed interested in crypto through that, even if you were a 2021 top buyer, then you are now a veteran.

Agreed. I didn't buy into crypto until late 2020, but I was lurking /biz/ in 2018-19 in the infamous crypto winter and despite the daily FUD back then, it was way more optimistic than the last year and half by a longshot. I miss those days.

2018-19 feels like a walk in the park compared to now

>> No.55547690

True. Bear market in 2018/19 was relatively optimistic because it was just business as usual. This bear market was very, very personal for many and has left them completely unhinged. It didn't feel like the same crowd of people this time around.

I think it's because a lot of people actually felt like crypto had gone mainstream and was "too big to fail". As each narrative starterd to falter, a new one took its place, and it looked like that was just going to be a generally bullish status quo from then on. "Even if we dump it won't last, and it won't be bad".
Almost nobody saw the entire CeFi house of cards collapsing and then the absolute regulatory buttfucking that came on the back of it.

Well yeah, me too and everyone else who never sold. However the average investooooor got absolutely rekt this time and sentiment has been in the dumps for over a year now. In 2019 there was at least that rally from the bottom to 11k and all the optimism around ETH/LINK, which has by now turned sour, deserved or not.

This bear market is/was bad because people thought BTC was going to go to 100k but it didn't and fucked with people's perception when it comes to trusting the 4 year cycle.

>fucked with people's perception when it comes to trusting the 4 year cycle.
How's that? It seems like it's playing out very similarly.

Class of 2017 here. This recent bear market has been absolutely brutal. Years of crabbing, Gary the kike terrorizing crypto, miserable cunt BTC maxis siding daddy government to regulate everything, maskinky and KIKEMAN fried, FTX, LUNA, ETH being a shameless pump and dump factory, did I forget anything? Absolutely awful. I’m just happy to seem some solid altcoin pumps.

That was honestly a fucking embarrassment. I don't know if those maxis are government plants, or the state of laser eyes is that shambolic, but either way that was a real low point.

Nah, the 2018 top was worse. Had to watch 100% of the 2019 rally to 13k completely bleed out back to $3.5k from the covid drop. And back then, 95% of the wallets were created after the giga pump to $20k

This current bear only briefly had majority capital losses for most wallets, now its getting close to most people being break even or profitable.

A good portion of this entire move from 15k to 30k is likely to retrace, if it is indeed the first leg up of the bull market. If you think that's impossible, once again just look at how 2019 completely bled out before the pump to 64k. The Blackrock jews won't just give the market free money, they'll probably flush everything really hard to pick up cheapies if they're serious about the ETF

I agree
I think we were supposed to bottom before the ftx collapse, but that really made this bear market shit.
And that was after a lackluster bull market

>> No.55548248

sure, op
but that shouldn't matter because your net worth should be 10x higher than it was in 2018

Every day since may 2021 has had this depressing undertone in the back of my head. Despite having a job and living well, this has taken a toll on my mental health.

It has nothing to do with crypto, its all about the real world imploding before your eyes
Average life is now alike the depths of the 1930s, but unlike then where the badness was acknowledged, now all msm is paving over it telling you to be happy
