Two questions:
1) I have 5k euros sitting in my bank account doing nothing, where should I invest them long-term? Some ETFs should be an appropriate option, I think. Also, is it even a good time to invest them, actually? Or should I wait?
2) Thoughts on the Austrian school of economics?

Well in a normal yield curve, longer dated treasuries are higher than short-dated ones. It's still inverted so there will be a snapback at some point, and then equities will get heemed. But the 4 and 6 month are the highest yields, which makes me think that is when an event as being priced in (Oct-Dec). Even if something happens it could take several months for the bottom to be discovered, so that puts it into like March or April of next year.
If it comes.
I can't pretend to know what will happen, but I would prefer to have higher quality defensive stocks, cash, and fixed income and accumulate wealth and remain extremely liquid for when a crash (may) happen in the next 1-2 years, even if it means missing the upside. I don't think the immediate gains are worth it and I'll try to swing trade and take profits on longer-term investments as we trickle upwards

Seriously, look at the all time chart on the SPX. Tell me this isn't happening right now

if the stock market is like a house, then the headline index numbers are like the square footage, and the individual stocks like the actual rooms. days like today, the index goes up with mega-cap leadership, it's like putting up scaffolding - they're expanding the house, everyone is excited.
but at the end of the day, when the scaffold comes down, not everyone's room will be bigger.
i expect tomorrow will be more of the same, MOAR scaffolding, and as you can see everyone is excited thinking nvidia is gonna get another new annex at the expense of all the other roommates. but that's not the case. we're going to see continued share gains from the bottom of the index.
of course i could be wrong. but i don't think that i am and i think this is the way you should look at this market. i think dow pumps tomorrow and when they're done with all the renovations, i think the russell/extended market ends up with more square footage, and i think the KOMP etf is the way to play it.

>fib levels from pivot low (2009) to pivot high (2022) puts the covid low at the 0.618 fib level (2020)
>fib levels from the covid low (2020) to the covid high (2022) puts the recent pivot (late 2022) at the 0.500 fib level from the covid high/low
>following the asset bubble chart for a double top, and using the 4-6 month treasury as a timeline, we should see a market peak soon
>this was established using the midpoint of the market ATH and the most recent 0.618 fib level

I actually did good and timed the bottom out pretty nicely and have taken a solid profit from this run but I am wary of a return to bull run so soon after such a tumultuous time for the economy. If it continues to run I'll be in great position but yeah if it starts to retest 2022 lows I'll regret not exiting soon.

AI is unironically a good play - long term.
Look at any other bigly hyped thing. We had an expansion, then contraction, then it slowly got integrated into the world over the next decade. For example, apply this to the dotcom boom/bust.
Crypto, EVs, and AI are all probably really good techs for the future, but we haven't had a proper bust on any of these yet. There needs to be a sharp retracement and half a decade of crabbing before they'll find permanent new highs. The bust hasn't happened yet.

>In economics and finance, a Glownigger Market is said to occur when a country's financial policymakers begin manipulating econometric data for their political benefit. [1] This may be accompanied by organized propaganda campaigns, hidden monetary easing, as well as other forms of financial repression, in order to reinforce the illusion that a nation's troubled economy is sound and resilient. [2, 3] In a Glownigger Market, stocks may seem to rally, even irrationally so, in the face of worsening economic conditions. However, while the goal of a Glownigger Market is to either delay or prevent a politically undesireable financial correction from occurring, the policy actions that led to the Glownigger Market invariably increase the severity of the subsequent financial crisis. By attempting to overpower healthy corrective market forces, a Glownigger Market causes extreme capital misallocation that can turn a minor economic downturn into a severe and protracted economic depression. Natural gas is sucking today. It looks similar to other times it's dumped, with high volume on the red candle engulfing yesterday. The SMA is around 2.49, which was the support 3 weeks ago on the June 20th dump. However the June 20th dump reversed the other direction. Right now it looks like an 'inverse W' on the chart. The question is if "we need power for the AC" outweighs "the chart looks shit". History shows us there is usually a massive bull move for NG in August, but in mid-July there is often a dump. Hedging bets, waiting for it to dump and reach a bottom, then betting on it going up again. The summer bull season usually portends the autumn bull season for natural gas, after the traditional september bear of course.

A lot of people are just bored on the sidelines but the real money's coming from that 1Y trend.

People react to daily events and monthly news and that's a good thing if you're day trading. But for swing traders there's a different picture. Inflation's been on the way down for awhile. The trend is your friend. The market's just going with it, knowing that, ultimately, that's what we want.

If those trends change, then we change

Someone should bake, but not me cause I'm drunk

Sorry, this thread is on a brokerage that doesn't allow 24 hour baking, so you just have to hope it doesn't gap down to archived before market hours.

That’s a blowoff top signal more than anything. We are 10% from ATH and we’ll easily get there in the next six months if the Fed makes a dovish policy error.

Jpow will pivot, and employers will finally feel safe to actually hire employees with better pay raising wages, they will go and buy new things and stimulate the economy, Jpow will allow it to happen because these rate hikes were only about his credibility he just wanted to show the world he was in charge, but if he causes a recession everyone will hate him. The truth is we actually want inflation.

>> No.55535304

You can take it a step further, the truth is that we want high inflation. It is the simplest way for businesses, individuals, and most importantly, the government, to decrease debts by inflating the debt away.

>– China's exports fell the most in three years in June, slumping a worse-than-expected 12.4% year-on-year, as signs mount of stress from the struggling global economy and Chinese policymakers face growing pressure for stimulus measures.

Imports also fell more than expected, down 6.8%, customs data showed on Thursday. A Reuters poll of economists had forecast exports to have shrunk 9.5% and imports to have fallen 4.0%.

Can this fuckin EU market just fuckin die now?

Good fuck China. I can't wait for their demographic collapse, their housing bubble to poo, and their toxic debt being used to keep their shitty ass manufacturing economy alive because their government is too corrupt and stupid to build a middle class service industry. When the shit hits the fan chick whores are going to be even cheaper than they are now when I go over and I'm going to fuck a shit ton of them and have my own harem.
