WTF happened? I remember 4 years ago shitcoins were fucking great. Devs actually gave it a chance which lasted week(s). Sure you can call it a pump and dump or whatever...but there was money to be made...now 99% of shitcoins last maybe 1 day tops and get rugged afterwards.

Maybe those were the golden days of crypto.

It does feel like the 'next generation' of memecoins has to find a whole new shtick, unless somehow loads of new buyers/normies are given easier access to trade them.

This could be a poor analogy but it feels like we have past the shitcoin era equivalent of the '83 video game crash. The blockchain scene was/is still saturated with them, and there's too many low effort/low quality/scammy options.

A new generation of shitcoins are being built on Bitcoin ordinals (BRC-20’s) but /biz/ continues to fade and sleeps on them. Some of them are up over 10,000%.
