Asking again.
A lot of bank earnings in the next two weeks. Honestly surprised that FRC was the last bank to get FDIC'd.
Honest question, are the bank runs over? With the threat of more future rising interest rates, will regionals survive? If so would that make current bank prices undervalued?

There's no reason for NVDA to tank. They're making money selling AI to suckers right now. And even if certain companies are saying, "Wait, is the AI bubble over?" we're already halfway through the quarter and NVDA already stuck deals with all those companies.

Will they carry SOXL? Approximately. If AMD and TSM underperform, then they can't. But if every chip company even moderately performs for the next six months, we're not stopping pumping until December, even January.

no he didn't. He made them out of boredom during boring lectures but when he posted he got an unexpected lash back by (You). Your frustration was so funny he posted one every time he made a comment in any thread , solely in hope of getting a reply from (You) specifically. (You) turned something that was random and fleeting into a worthwhile pursuit of trolling pleasure. He only made Bobo and Mumu to begin with. (You) inspired him to make the rest. It was good. I had a turkey and cheese panini and a latte. The one girl who works there is very cute, but the other is kind of mean.
It's good to patronize independent cafe businesses like this though, because we can't give all our money to the assholes at SBUX. Their food is fast and convenient, but nothing special. Same for their espresso drinks... they're just... fine. SBUX lattes always seem a little light and flavorless though, even if I order an extra espresso shot. Do I need to order TWO EXTRA shots? Because then I'll look like a fucking addict. Another problem is SBUX will just let anyone hang out in their dining room, like homeless schizos who harass actual customers, because Howard Schultz is worried about the potential for bad PR. Indie cafes won't put up with that shit. I don't know how much longer SBUX has left. This guy did a video about it https://youtu.be/__OegYfrSoI

The blackpill is that the stock market stopped serving its sole purpose of trading when the first index fund through vanguard was offered in 1975, it doesn't matter what any human does it all runs on itself and will always go up regardless of what the economy looks like. Bobos and mumus will argue about interest rates or schizo talk about "they will dump at X point" "The market will dump everything into tech stocks". There is no need for positive growth quarterly earnings or signs of real growth anymore, the indices are all automated systems set up in the early 70s in wall street, the indices will just throw out weaker earning companies and weight up higher earning companies pushing the index figures up until the day NYC loses power for months on end and america completely dissolves. Jack bogle was the endpoint of this civilization run's trading systems. The only thing that will ever surpass the index fund at this point is maybe bitcoin where every last watt hour of electricity used by computer systems controlling wall street are redirected to mine bitcoin. Money always chases the smartest allocator of money and thats the index fund now.

If core inflation remains elevated, I could see them doing at least 3, maybe 4 more rate hikes. Powell can continue raising rates up to around 10-11% before Congress can no longer pay the national debt. It would destroy a lot of other countries in the process if he went that high, but that’s not Powell’s problem. I could see them settling on 6.5-7% interest rates by the end of next year though

>Why don't the corperations lay off enough people to make powell fuck off?
>labor hoarding
during covid we saw mass retirement, huge amount of people left the work force, labor force participation rate sharply fell
this happened at the same time as we saw a massive increase in durable goods demand
companies had massive orders / demand to be filled, without the workers to be able to fill the orders. they spent an extremely long time struggling to attract workers, having to offer them higher and higher wages in order to attract workers or retain them due to inflation.
Now that they have filled their backlog of orders and are not receiving new orders, there is a lot more idle worker activity. However, they are still terrified of cutting workers - they don't want there to be no recession, they lay off workers, and then they have to go through hiring all over again, at even higher wages than before in order to attract labor.
So instead of laying off employees, they are cutting hours - if you look at the employment data, this is what has been happening to a T
If these trends continue, it will move from cutting hours to cutting workers after the summer ends. Everyone thought that the summer was going to be crazy in hospitality / travel, so these industries hired a ton of seasonal workers in anticipation of the demand
However now it appears that the summer demand was not as great as anticipated, so it will cause employers to start laying off workers en masse
Soon.

TLT is yielding a ridiculous 3.08% at Friday's close below $100.
And that's only if they keep up with their dividend payments as they have over the past 12 months.
Add a 0.15% "management" free on top of that.
TLT might be interesting if it yields as much as the 10 year treasury but holding TLT has basically become an act of donating (or throwing, however you want to look at it) money away ever since the FED started to raise rates.

>In economics and finance, a Glownigger Market is said to occur when a country's financial policymakers begin manipulating econometric data for their political benefit. [1] This may be accompanied by organized propaganda campaigns, hidden monetary easing, as well as other forms of financial repression, in order to reinforce the illusion that a nation's troubled economy is sound and resilient. [2, 3] In a Glownigger Market, stocks may seem to rally, even irrationally so, in the face of worsening economic conditions. However, while the goal of a Glownigger Market is to either delay or prevent a politically undesireable financial correction from occurring, the policy actions that led to the Glownigger Market invariably increase the severity of the subsequent financial crisis. By attempting to overpower healthy corrective market forces, a Glownigger Market causes extreme capital misallocation that can turn a minor economic downturn into a severe and protracted economic depression. I think the situation is transitory on used cars. It's all a product of inventory shortages from the popular manufacturers. They got behind during covid for a variety of reasons and some, most notably Toyota, chose not to increase their capacity. They did this on a bet that it would lose them money long term in the event of demand falling and the expanded production having to be cut back anyway. New car prices are not that inflated in comparison to used if the dealerships are at least meeting MSRP, however, lengthy wait times on new orders persist. Lengthy wait times on new trickles to unusual high demand for clean used, very sharp increase in average asking prices. Whereas my preference is to buy cars that are 3-5 years old with 50k-80k on the odo, the asking price on those is 90%+ of brand new MSRP. That's why I chose to just buy new this time around. I don't care about residual value as I don't flip cars. I buy to keep until the car is so busted I couldn't get 1000 for it on craigslist.

ehh its more of a poly/secular crisis around the world due to an excess population that is not being used to sustain itself out of ego and laziness.
imagine real estate + famine + inceldom + IQ drain, etc. all souped up into one and lasting for a prolonged period of time until people feel more happy in building a future without having to compete too hard to live in it.

id say it'd be a mini dot-com bubble that can and probably will be ignored in a very long-term pov. you just gotta manage the drawdowns of projects that are incentivized of building out a sustainable future post-2030. again its a good sector to be in as there is a lot runway for growth, its just that due to the nature of there being more market participants, and each market participant being smarter than before, thanks to the internet and ease of sharing of info through social media, it makes for a network effect of people transacting faster than pre-internet. making way for greater volatility.
as in you have to cash out when price is overvalued because you can bet the exec and insiders will do so over time. just be wary of when world leaders give up on building out a smart city future, brain drains, and the supply of raw materials to build hardware.

>>55511589

Don't believe false propheths, and that's why I secured a trip.

Proof that I even posted in that thread with trip, every other ID had 1 post.

It was probably that NVDA guy who I shat on in original thread.

Nothing. There will be almost no impact for Western fabs, as they can have other sources (it's a supply chain reshuffle).
These two metals are mostly used for high Solar cells (germanium) and antenna GaNi, and those devices are anyway made in china. It's just a problem for DoJ approved fabs (so military use) but that's a small portion on semis.

European bourses are in positive territory after early losses as U.S. index futures move off session lows.

The Stoxx Europe 600 fell 3.1% last week, its biggest weekly decline since March, as investors balked at higher bond yields that came despite concerns about slowing growth in China.

After challenging three-month lows initially on Monday, the Stoxx Europe 600 is now up 0.2%, with Germany's DAX 40 adding 0.5%.

The U.K.'s FTSE 100 is underperforming with a gain of 0.2% as it is weighed down by miners in the wake of worries about poor demand for resources from China after signs of more deflationary pressures in the world's second biggest economy.

"‘The continued loss of power in the Chinese economy is concerning investors, with consumer prices flatlining. The downbeat data comes ahead of the key inflation snapshot in the United States on Wednesday, which could determine how long the monetary squeeze will continue," said Susannah Streeter, head of money and markets at Hargreaves Lansdown.

Yeah they don't care at all. 10 year could break 4.10% today and the Nasdaq will still go up or close down .05%

>DURRRR LOOK AT HOW THE MARKET IS MOVING AT THIS VERY MOMENT, CLEARLY STOCKS DON'T CARE ABOUT INTEREST RATES!!!!
You're a fucking retard. Lurk moar. Learn how the bond market works. Learn why interest rates matter for valuations. This is not the first time that you've tried to argue this in /smg/. You're retarded.
I don't give a fuck what happens in the next 2 hours. I don't give a fuck what happens in the next 24 hours.
>SEE!! STOCKS ROSE TODAY, EVEN WHEN INTEREST RATES WENT UP, CLEARLY THEY DON'T CARE!!!
Zoom out, zoomer retard. Look big picture. You are too hyper-focused on small intraday movements, and use these movements to justify your delusions. The market absolutely cares about higher interest rates.
>Wow, economic data came out! Market went up! Market must like the economic data! Stocks will go up forever based on this reaction!
This is amateur, noob trader thinking.

>Learn how the bond market works
Yeah I understand how it works, but this time around stocks don't care. Even back in late October when yields were peaking stocks didn't care. They were surging higher every day as the 30 year yield made new highs. Stocks haven't cared about the bond market for over a year now and recently it's ridiculously obvious.
Look at a chart of TLT and QQQ. How do you explain the enormous difference between them?
