Have you tried using lightning? I was skeptical at first but it works. There are apps that allow you to take lightning addresses just like email and people can send sats to for example [e-mail], instant payment with no fees. It's really easy to use.

Last time I tried to use an Ethereum layer 2 it required me to sign up and pay first, was it arbitrum I don't remember. And most of the time Ethereum wallets feel more outdated than Bitcoin ones. I don't really see the outdated narrative making sense, Bitcoin has one purpose and that's being money and it does it much better than Ethereum.
