hello.

I'm interested in purchasing a home near or around Jacksonville, FL (east of St. Johns, ofc) with my fiance and starting a new life. desu I'd go as far south as West Palm Beach but it seems property near there is out of my price range.
I have been working for my father's small business in shithole Seattle for many years and we have finally sold it, giving me my severance package. I have ~$15,000 liquid that I'd like to use non-retardidly and aquire some equity in somewhat costal property.
My lady is managerial position with an insurance company and earns roughly 75k pre taxes. I'm likely to be seeking a position in class A CDL work after acquiring appropriate certifications.

>is now a good time to home shop?
>what are the good towns to look out for and what are the nono zones
>is "muh costal home insurance" a scam?

Any info is appreciated

Would you consider a different state? Like Alabama or Georgia? People are starting to say Florida is getting expensive and Alabama/Georgia will be the next Florida

Alabama not so much, but Georgia wouldn't be out of the question for me. I've always wanted to move to Florida (just like everyone else that's moving there now) but have seen the signs that it's becoming a refuge in a sense, causing property value increases. I'm curious if the commerical driving opportunities in a state like Georgia would be as lucrative as a major shipping hub state like Florida. (note, I don't have a damn what I'm talking about)

All the major roads through Georgia go through Atlanta and that quite frankly sucks.

Would you consider Savannah, GA something of safe haven or is it still considered shitty?
