The simple explanation for why they minted all that TUSD is because their own stablecoin BUSD was banned. They used to offer zero-fee trading in BUSD, and now they offer zero-fee trading in TUSD.

We don't know if that's the case though. Binance and TUSD are both very opaque about their reserves.

I know I'm probably going to regret spending those transaction fees transferring my cryptos out of binance because there's no way that CZ used a profitable exchange to fund a diastrous gambling trading firm like SBF did , and any hubbub about execs resigning about a DOJ investigation is probably only going to result in a few billion dollar fine and won't change the fact that Binance is going to keep printing money so won't ever collapse or not be able to pay out its customer withdrawals...
