about basically being paypigs?
The only time the token value was in uptrend was mid 2018-mid 2020. This also was a result of pure speculation and absolutely nothing the team did to create that or shepherd it other than release mainnet. completely off of the investors and communities back and own sentiment and memes etc.

for the foreseeable future the only purpose of this token is to be sold by sergey and spent on whatever he deems fit - with 0 accountability or pressure.
He self admittedly "only just started thinking about token economics recently".
Started thinking. Thinking.
going by his slow product cycles(one major product since 2019 - price feeds) - and the fact the current rate of sales will exhaust his balance in 6 years - along with their historic complete lack of ability to spur any speculation at all but do quite the opposite - why the fuck are people so cocky about this token now days? its not 2020 any more. that era is fucking dead, and that era was a product of others not anything Sergey fucking did to help.

So now the only shill for the token is that these other tokens you are "eligible" to get by locking up bleeding token being constantly dumped by its founders for a year MIGHT go up a lot more than the chainlink token itself. so speculation on other coins. just lol

I'm going to respond as a NoLinker because I used to envy linkies. I started browsing biz in the late summer of 2017 as bitcoin was picking up steam, around 6,000 per btc. Becuase I was a retard, I thought I missed the boat with bitcoin, and the only way I'd ever make serious money is by purchasing alt-coins. Now, there were so many altcoins back then, which one should you buy? I did my research, and I invested into multiple altcoins with real world projects and use cases that I thought were interesting. I also bought litecoin which basically just allowed me to break even at the end of the bull run.

Link posters dominated this board from Septmber 2017 onwards. There were so many, I was absolutely sure that it was a scam and a rugpull and I'd lose all my money. The first time I saw LINK shilled here it was well under 40 cents per LINK. I never bought, not once. I watched LINK's entire rise and fall.

To think that I could've bought thousands upon thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of LINK, and held it, and then made it....it does bother me. But I think what would bother me even more, is if I had actually bought LINK when it was cheap, and then I held through the all time high without selling it.

Can you imagine? Can you imagine putting $5000 into LINK in 2017 and then in 2021 being almost a millionaire...and NOT selling? And then now you're barely back to 20 or 25k? That would be so painful, it's clear that holding out hope for a new all time high might be a protective psychological strategy

don't let it bother you. I had lots of BTC (not even sure how much) when it was worth single digits and lost my wallet keys. thought exactly the same but I know for sure that I probably would have sold after a 5x or 10x if I still had my keys and then would have regretted it anyway. could have been generational wealth and I also like to hope that other coins that I'm hoping reach mulitply in value that much. but as you have said it's most likely just your brain protecting you from roping yourself

It was so so so so SOOOO obvious that it was clearly the real deal. The fervor was unmatched to anything else. This is why you had to either be a genius or a total retard. I had just gotten here right after the alt boom… and I was pumping in the last of my dollars into Link and I literally didn’t even know how to do 2FA on Binance. I had to have a friend help me. You’d be right about this if it was ETH in the old world. Fortunately for many who’ve held back down… covid saved us. Covid fucked up EVERYTHING. The old world ain’t coming back. Go drive around nice suburbs in the late afternoon early evening on these nice summer days. Literally no kids outside playing, it’s the creepiest thing in the world. 75% of the country took some experimental corporate serum. So to be honest… it really doesn’t matter that much anymore. Getting “rich” off link is going to be way different than getting rich off bitcoin in 2012. The old world is long gone. Of course… I saw this all coming… I wasn’t thinking lambo’s… I was thinking fuck….link is going to fuck everything up but I’m buying cuz I’m not going to be stuck with the riffraff in some UBI camp. Do you know how fucked up things are going to be in like 2035? When most of you are hitting your prime? So I mean whatever. Everything is in a holding pattern now. All link is now is about keeping the tide away from drowning us. Will we be comfy? Sure. But it’s not going to be fun anymore. Everything is fucked, everyone is fucked in the head.

We can not allow the WEF & the young globohomo leaders to manipulate the markets any longer with their fake wars, prolonged bear markets and gay crashes. In order for the Golden Bullrun to resume, Chainlink(ticker: LINK) needs to be destroyed.

Actually this seems true looking back on it. The dynamic there wasn't anything at all like, 'we work closely together and he advises me'.
It was more like 'we pay this guy what is likely a copious amount of the token for him to (presumably) dump so we can tweet out that he's associated with the project'
It's all so tiresome...

When I first bought it was a gamble
Then, after years of breadcrumbs being confirmed, it's turned into as close to a sure thing as you can hope for in crypto.

I'm sure there were early amzn investors who went through the same thing after the dotcom bubble.
The first run up was pure speculation, and the price action that followed never matched up to how well things were going inside the company.

Same thing with Link.
$52 was pure speculation in a bubble.
Right now we're still being drug down by the overall market while we wait for CCIP to be released and have success.
It's still a risk holding Link, don't get me wrong.
The team still needs to follow through, but with all the indications from massive financial institutions that CL is going to be essential to their future operations, it's hard to deny that the odds are about as good as you can hope for in this space.
