So I just came to the conclusion it looks like 4 or 5 han is the sweet spot, and where you really want to be aiming for in most situations, and if your hand is only going to be worth like 1 or 2 han when there are only a few tiles left in the wall you're still a ways from tenpai, probably better off just folding those hands to avoid losses since the reward is not worth the risk. However, if your hand has a chance for haneman or baiman, you may be more inclined to take these risks, since your reward will be greater to compensate for the additional losses you will incur on average.

I remember discovering some Japanese mahjong videos about 5 to 10 years ago on YT. It was the one where four players seemingly played against each other and had a little wall of bricks in front of them that they occasionally shifted and threw into the pile in the middle or something. Kind of reminded me of more elaborate UNO lol.
Anyways, most of the players, nearly all of them actually, were late 20s to mid 30s hot, attractive jap women that looked like they'd put a kitchen knife to your throat if you forgot to buy something from the store. I was really wondering why all of them were seemingly beautiful. Not a single fatty.
Oh and also on one episode there was The Great Muta. I guess he was/is a household name in Japan.
This YT discovery was topped years later by stumbling upon the Japanese cutesie girl bowling league.

Hello my pale mass shooter friends I have two stocks that are decent shorts. They're both biotech stocks that could really drop in value.

First one is boring, called CRNX. Crinetics. Basically they're trying to cure acromegaly, a hormonal disease associated with gigantism. Their already exists an injectable drug (or even better, surgery) that works quite well, but the existing oral drug sucks. But somehow CRNX's oral drug is even worse. The drug won’t work. The drug will fail p3 trials. and the stock should lose a lot of value since most of the stocks' value is tied up to their Acromegaly drug, paltusotine

The second company is a way more interesting short to me because it could feasibly go to ZERO. Bankruptcy full on. ARAV. ARAV has one of the worst balance sheets i've ever seen. ARAV literally might be a straight zero since they can't do a reverse split to stay alive as the company is currently structured.

The ARAV clinical trial catalyst is coming up real soon. Ovarian cancer 'mid-2023' aka any day or month now and I think like you said the company guided for August.
>should be good
If the company has a bad data readout, ARAV stock price is literally going to ZERO. That is why I think it's worth shorting it.

Even that aside, this company has a Going Concern from auditors aka the auditors are disclosing that the company has no fucking money left. Pic related is ARAV's "Going Concern" from auditors. They are fucked.

The Fed is doing the worst type of QE. They are doing selective bailouts to patch together the economy so that they can keep raising rates. It's the worst case scenario and it will lead to hyperinflation. The stock market will make new highs while the real economy gets worse and worse. The government will step in and introduce crazy stimulus packages to support the real economy. The Fed will keep patching banks. Inflation will get out of control and a 20% FFR will become reality. We will see negative jobs reports that will result in a 100bps gain in yields because of stimulus expectations

>In economics and finance, a Glownigger Market is said to occur when a country's financial policymakers begin manipulating econometric data for their political benefit. [1] This may be accompanied by organized propaganda campaigns, hidden monetary easing, as well as other forms of financial repression, in order to reinforce the illusion that a nation's troubled economy is sound and resilient. [2, 3] In a Glownigger Market, stocks may seem to rally, even irrationally so, in the face of worsening economic conditions. However, while the goal of a Glownigger Market is to either delay or prevent a politically undesireable financial correction from occurring, the policy actions that led to the Glownigger Market invariably increase the severity of the subsequent financial crisis. By attempting to overpower healthy corrective market forces, a Glownigger Market causes extreme capital misallocation that can turn a minor economic downturn into a severe and protracted economic depression. Welp, CPI probably going to be good next wednesday. No earnings scheduled that could crash shit. Jobs report shit on Friday, but the market seems to be starting to see good job numbers as good news again instead of worrying about the Fed. And now the fed says there is an equal chance of recession as there is avoiding one. Whereas before, they were only saying it was a small possibility to avoid one. Time to jump back in for me.

It only had an effect because the market thought the Fed was serious about taming the economy. After SVB the market knows that infinite QE is back on the table so rate rises don't matter anymore

Do you guys ever think about your life if banks never fucked over people with junk mortgages and then subsequently get bailed out. If the us allowed the banks to fail we'd actually be a country and i probably wouldn't give a shit who was elected or not. I'd be a dad grilling hot dogs for the family and see if the neighbors wants some. I'd be out playing cornhole with some guys down the street. Houses would be affordable and crimes would be drastically down. I'd work 40 hours a week and only 40 hours, and i'd read the news from the bipartisan sunday newspaper. I'd have a wife that could stay at home to take care of my four kids because inflation has been 1% year over year, and i don't have money issues. Stocks have been 7% gain over the years but my salary outpaces inflation so it's fine.

If you're talking about CRNX it's a combination of data the company releases in corporate presentations and PR's and also peer reviewed paper about the existing class of drugs for that indication (acromegaly). For example pic related is from a paper comparing injectable acromegaly drugs versus oral acromegaly drug (CRNX's competitor, mycappsa aka oral oct).

I use the papers to see how CRNX's competitor drugs are doing and what the standard of clinical trial response rate should be from CRNX's drug.

This image doesn't show the dose dependent safety profile of the drug. It shows concentration of the drug over time with a half life determined based on the most effective dosing from P2 trials. Effectively, as the dose increases the amount present in the body increases. This does not reveal anything about the dose dependent side effects. Yeah I had issues with posting for some reason. that picture i posted demonstrates that there's a lot of issues with the drug’s pharmacokinetics (pk) since they showed no increased exposure past 20 mg. In Phase 2 studies they had 6 discontinuations of 43 patients but that was dosing at 10 mg titrating up to 20/30. They’re starting at 40mg in this Phase 3 and going to 60mg.
> Where are you getting the information that it is unsafe
Not dose specific. The company is doing really wacky things with the dosing actually. I trust the pk over a post-hoc dose response obviously
