This is unironically why I mostly buy BTC. I live in a shithole there is no established place I can buy precious metals and it's more than likely I will get scammed buying over the counter at one point and I won't even realize it. Looking up from any random Blockchain explorer is enough to verify I did get the Bitcoin I paid for.
