I think they are not real dividends in the tax sense. You get money, but it's to compensate for a drop in the price of the etf. Otherwise you would lose because of dividends that owners get paid. So to balance this, you receive money but it's technically not dividends. Same goes for shorting, they detract money from your balance, because you profit off the drop the divvies cause. Divvies are not supposed to have an effect on your CFD-bet.
