Truebit was interesting. It was a legit token created by a respected person in the industry with a good use case. It was a kind of blockchain based cloud compute system, people could share CPU with other people to run workloads and it would track everything. There was pretty much no information on the launch of the token on his website or when trading would start or anything. He never really said anything about trading. Then trading just opened suddenly one day on uniswap and everything looked fine except that the developer of the token never said anything about the launch. The price went up a lot over a few hours and then dumped hard like 80% or something really quick. Well it turned out that the dev of the token never planned to add liquidity on uniswap so people could trade his token, the token was only supposed to be used within his Truebit ecosystem. What happened was some random scammer created a pool on uniswap and added thousands of dollars of liquidity and people just started buying it up and the scammer kept buying and buying to create fake volume and then just rugged the whole lot. People thought it was legit because the actual Truebit token was the real token, but the liquidity pool was fake. Even after all that the dev still didn't say anything, he might not have even known his token was being traded, i don't know. I think i got most of those details right, it was a while ago now, I didn't follow it for long either
