I'm not getting into semantics about volatility drag, SEC shennanigans, 200 MA strategy, or liquidation during long term draw downs. With daily leverage the SP 500 can handle 3x leverage. QQQ is 2x. So you need to figure out normal volatility ranges and standard deviations. Current SPY implied volatility is 14, QQQ is 19. SOXX is 27. Just off of that eye test alone I doubt it can handle 3x long term. Volatility for the underlying (SOXX) is higher than the basic bitch indexes.

There is theta decay so the value drops from day-to-day relative to the underlying, if underlying goes up 10% on three consecutive days your gain is not guaranteed to be 30% as you'd expect, it can be higher (apparently) but generally you get a bit less on each consecutive day. QQQ has performed well-enough that it hasn't mattered so far.

I thought Theta Decay referred to Options prices deteriorating as they approach the expiration date? Not sure how that would relate to leveraged ETFs. I am aware that Leveraged ETFs have daily rebalancing plus the obligatory active management fees, but just as you said, the underlying QQQ has been so good that it's tanked straight through it. So while I've seen a lot of "conventional", intelligent reasons not to buy/hold TQQQ, when I actually review the charts I can't help but notice that multi-week holding periods during bull runs seem to blow the indices out of the water.

It's just risky because a 33.3% drop in the underlying will wipe you out and even a period of crabbing will erode your investment to zero if you hold for too long.

bitcoin is about dumping your bags onto someone else for more than what you paid for them. It's not about long term thinking.
The supply cap is the dream you sell, while brushing over how it'll cover the longterm security/transaction costs once the current inflation stops.

There's no yield, so the only way to see profit is to religiously shill it onto others. In a way, every currency operates similarly.

It isn't about the efficacy of the ads, because Google's PPC strategy is designed to maximise click-through-rates anyway, and there's a natural ceiling to those (i.e., no matter how expertly crafted and personalised an ad is, the average user is only going to click it every so often depending on their desired outcome). The problem is, the bulk of Google's ad revenues are based on the traditional SERP, which is threatened by a number of trends in the search landscape, not just AI. In short, people won't use - or expect to use - traditional search engine ranking pages in the future. Informational searches will be facilitated by AI (e.g., if you want to know "what are RFK Jnr's economic policies") you won't search it and scroll through ranked results to find one that looks good. Instead, you'll type (or more likely say) it out loud, and generative-AI will provide you with the information you want in a format that's personalised to you (probably factoring in your existing knowledge, intelligence level, attention span, political leanings, etc.). Google's ad rev is already getting hit by new players like TikTok (which zoomers use as an informational search engine) and new players like personalised podcast ads will hit them further. Crucially, Google doesn't have any kind of moat in emerging tech (Bard is mediocre + quickly falling behind). Aside from that, look at some of their other core digital products: GA4(360) is shit and everyone hates it.

Daily reminder that there is a LOT more trouble brewing under the surface
Daily reminder that all the banks balance sheets are all completely fucked
>banks seeing massive deposit outflows due to higher interest rates
>banks seeing balance sheets collapse, as commercial real estate is now worth 50% pre-covid due to work from home [banks positioned themselves / risk management with the belief that 'commercial real estate can never go down in value!!']
>due to banking crisis, extreme tightening of credit conditions; failure to roll previous loans and failure to issue new loans = money supply contraction
So, why would the Fed "skip" but not "pause"??
Because the banks are that fucked, and the Fed hopes that by pausing, and giving them more time to fix their balance sheets, they can get their shit together and prevent total systemic failure
>pro-tip: they can't fix their balance sheets
"Anon, what are you talking about, the banking system is strong and resilient!"
L o l. Yeah, that's why the bank usage of the Fed's Bank Term Funding Program has gone up, not down as time has passed. Everything is fine.

Generative AI isn't useless. I've been using GPT4 to go through books on medicine as a note supplement. It takes a book, and pulls out 90% of the most useful information and condenses it. It misses a good 10% of stuff, but that's why this is a supplement. I've been using it with AutoGPT, though, not just a standard chatbot.

But for notes, have the AI first write a detailed outline, then takes detailed but concise notes on the source book with no unnecessary wording on the outline. You have to put it straight to a source book, because if you ask it to crawl the web, or use its general knowledge it will provide really elementary and basic information that's not really useful for medical science or any other advanced science.

I think something like Google Search is way better and way more refined than ChatGPT. Google Search gives you a long list of results that you can browse through. ChatGPT on the other hand will give you a single result that is often completely fake information. It writes the answer in an authoritative tone so you think it's true, but a lot of the time it's a ChatGPT hallucination.

Google Search you can misspell every word and give it just a vague idea of what you're looking for and it'll still give you good results. It's way more useful and advanced than ChatGPT

Trips tell the truth. UK is basically forced to hike at least once or twice (50 bps at the minimum) so yeah. Gonna be tough for the people there. Has the UK done anything rational as of late? They seem to be in complete reversal mode. Germany's industry is going to hell, which plays into China's and the US's hands.

Britain needed to pause their hikes because the entire bond market was about to implode. And now they have inflation and core inflation higher than 3% over the interest rate. And it was actually STARTING TO CLIMB with 25 bps rate hikes which is why they had to do 50 this time

Everyone seemed to forget that inflation causes inflation. And while QE was cheap easy money for the economy it also made the financial system and pensions and retirement system all built on a stack of cards

The bonds that boomers had bought into these last 15 years are essentially completely worthless.

Nobody has forgotten anything. They know exactly what they are doing. They are trying to reduce the middle class to rubble. Either that or they really are that incompetent. I refuse to believe the people in charge of our countries are that stupid.
Yeah, it's insane. Literally 15 years of worthless bonds across Europe. Then again, twas a great time for businesses (still is in my opinion) and normos. You were effectively losing at life if you didn't get a loan since they were that cheap. Take a loan, buy a house and just watch that house increase in value by 300%+. Too easy. So a bail in is where they (the CDIC) forcibly reduces debt by making a bank issue new shares? Why are these on the bond market, then? Are they issued as part of that, or did the banks do a share buyback and issue bonds to offset the cost so the stock price remains stable? Optionstrat, but premium. It's $150 per year, but wait for the July 4th sale they usually do. Premium gives you prob% and net greeks. There's also live option flow, which is $500 per year, but I usually lose my ass over time on options so I don't really care about that. The way I see it, is if a subscription to something makes you lose one less trade or avoid a bad one, then it will probably pay for itself, when you're at the level of capital where it matters.

Actually it does to some extent. Some strategies we use at lower capital levels do not scale if you have 6 or 7 figures. While it's good to think in terms of percentages, a 2% loss from $10,000 ($200) is very different from a 2% loss from $1,000,000 ($2000) - that's roughly an entire month's worth of rent, for example. Your brain will act differently, and nobody pays attention to trade psychology. You treat it indifferently because it's a "small" amount, but if you scale up, you'd be eating shit. Just imagine trying your strategy out for a wealthy client and see that it won't work. You should always have a defined entry/exit price on every trade.

>>55404105
>Do the ETF managers hedge it or do I need to short the foreign currency?
