>>55401111
It doesn't. The government will not abandon the Lira because it's how they are robbing their population blind. The people will not abandon it because they are sheeple to dumb to figure out crypto is not just about jpegs or centralized garbage in the hands of major stakeholders. So we get to watch the clown fiesta until there is no more money to rob or the people grow more than 1 braincell.

>> No.55401178

Nobody knows.
Turkey is a current account deficit country so they need forex to keep importing things. Forex providing market participants have been spooked by Erdogan because the Central Bank is not independent and monetary policy does not make sense. Also if you use all derivatives and swaps in your calculations Turkey has net negative forex reserves. So there seem to be multiple ways to lose money for foreign corporations and they are in a risk off-get my money out mode.

The future depends on what the market participants think will happen and what the policy response to certain events will be. If current trends continue at some point the currency will be cheap enough for foreign investors to start pouring capital in again.

The reasons for the crisis were brewing for decades due to the bad fiscal practices by the Greeks. The party that found itself in power lost practically all power, but it could have been the other party, but that party continues chugging as seen by yesterday's election.
