Yes, Ripple will dethrone Bitcoin, not only that, but will be have real world adoption.

Bitcoin is dying. Merchants are dropping it and users no longer use it for payments. It's nothing but a speculative bubble now. PoW is a broken garbage that relies on inflation or outrageous fees.

If you asked me a few weeks ago I would've said $10. But Ripple's partnerships are growing by leaps and bounds.

Twitter is crawling with noobies begging for instructions on how to buy XRP. Coinbase is very likely to list it. It's getting attention from big media like CNBC and Forbes. And we still haven't even heard the "2 huge household name" partnerships yet.

XRP is up over 200x year to date. If does even 10% of that kind of movement in 2018, we're going to see $20 XRP.

fwiw $5 XRP would pay off my mortgage so I'm not even trying to "pipe dream" here.

shows a transaction cost of .001 XRP (some kind of priority transaction maybe?), but the minimum cost is .00001 XRP.

Assuming XRP's current 1500 TPS maximum 24 hours per day (86,400 seconds) we'd arrive at 129,600,000 transactions per day.

129,600,000 x .00001 = 1,296 XRP burned per day, or 473,040 burned per year. When taking into account the full 100 billion you can see how minuscule this really is.

Even @.001 they'd be burning 40 million/yr which would still take 2,500 years to burn up.

(I guess I debunked my own initial 100 year thought process... I must've confused another coin.)

Oh it's still worth it. Look, Ripple is targeting a market that moves $5 trillion PER DAY. They are making excellent progress in that area.

To put it into perspective if Ripple were to capture 10% of that market you could speculate that the value of XRP would need to hover around $500 Billion. (yes there are other criteria that could make this rise or fall but I'm trying to be brief).

But remember - that market is the focus of Ripple the COMPANY. It speaks nothing to the demand from private investors like you or I, or Michael Arrington's $100 million XRP hedge fund, or any other institution that may use XRP for their own purposes.

Don't even bother with "muh market cap" bullshit. You guys honestly can't even begin to imagine what's going to happen with Ripple in 2018. Think ETH early 2017 when people scoffed at $100 when it was trading around $10.

There's going to be a godly amount of butthurt on this forum and in the crypto-community when XRP goes on it's tear and 90% of the shitcoins with no utility or market penetration straight up die.

We haven't seen anything yet and what's about to happen will make the BTC run and alt-coin pump last year look insignificant. And yes, start thinking in trillions, not billions.

Ripple solves a 27 trillion dollar nostro problem. $100 would bring ripple's market cap to 4-5 trillion. Gold (which ripple competes with as a store of value as well despite what you've heard) is 8 trillion.

The reason why "muh marketcap" is bullshit is because people can't imagine anything being worth more than bitcoin is now. This coin is going to be worth hundreds of dollars one day, and I'm going to be a multi-millionaire because I own just under a hundred thousand of them.

>Gold is just 1's and 0's in the simulation that is our reality anyway breh
Pass dat dank you be smokin' on mah nigga.
But really even if we took that to be true you're still adding a level of impurity which would reduce the "level of inherentness" of the value of it.
The fact is that all crypto's needs both infrastructure and acceptence for having value and the same is not true for gold. Gold don't need any external factors to exist or having worth.
>But for real though, tell me how many people actually own these precious metals, and not just a deed (which is stored as 1's and 0's) that holds counterparty risk. Use your brain
Who cares and how is it related to anything? People who claim that deeds on precious metals are a pure store of value are only one step above your level of logic and simply don't understand very concepts.

All cryptocurrencies like all FIATs hold value only as long as they are spendable. Gold holds value until the end of time because of the beauty and the physical and chemical properties it holds

>> No.5544587

>>5544490
Fair enough, i see your point. I just think the physical = value thing is overblown. Its far more efficient to store and transfer value in something digital than something physical, and the infrastructure isn't going away (bar an electromagnetic pulse). You're borderline doomsday prepper if you think like that.

All I called out were that you claimed that Ripple competes with gold as a store of value which is incorrect and the community needs to stop selling crypto for what it isn't. There is plenty of possitive aspects already so adding vapor will only be hurtful in the long run.
>Its far more efficient to store and transfer value in something digital than something physical
What do you even mean "more efficient to store"? Unless you mean that it takes up less space then you still haven't gotten it. Storing isn't really an action which takes much effience
>You're borderline doomsday prepper if you think like that
Not buying into the lies shills tell you does not make one a doomsday prepper. Guns would most likely have give much better value for money in a doomsday scenario anyway. Gold is good in a currency crisis where it's 50/50 if crypto would rise or crash. Probably rise if the infrastructure holds

You sell before the dip when there are more buyers than sellers, simple as that.

You sell when everyone else is selling, the exchanges will go down, your order wont fill, and youll chase the price down trying to get out.

that's low mate, in 2018 bitcoin will fail and everyone will move to XRP. XRP will shoot to $5000 easily and by EOY 2018 it'll be around $15'000.

meanwhile, ethereum will have lost its crown to either XLM or ADA, who will float around $800 by EOY 2018.

Garlinghouse (Ripple CEO) mentioned the cross-border currency channels they're targeting have $27T locked up in nostro accounts.
That's only one use-case - the first one they're targeting.
If the market cap got to that level, you'd see $600+ XRP.
