Bros, this oil dump is way too attractive but come on... oil stocks are hovering near ATH. Should I just bite the bullet and go into Exxon or Chevron? Oil at 68? That's really cheap considering we keep using more and more. Also, someone here pointed out that medium oil-price works the best for oil stocks while too high prices (like last year) kinda fucks them. Can someone shed some light on that?

Demand ticks up a little from Rajesh's new scooter, sure. But then it slams into the headwinds of exponential EV adoption, increasingly green electricity generation, short term dumping from US and Chinese SPRs, then finally long term dumping from Russian, Iranian, and Venezuelan supply.

Plus, remember that even a slight slowdown hits overall demand by about 1%/1mbpd.

Daily reminder that there is a LOT more trouble brewing under the surface
Daily reminder that all the banks balance sheets are all completely fucked
>banks seeing massive deposit outflows due to higher interest rates
>banks seeing balance sheets collapse, as commercial real estate is now worth 50% pre-covid due to work from home [banks positioned themselves / risk management with the belief that 'commercial real estate can never go down in value!!']
>due to banking crisis, extreme tightening of credit conditions; failure to roll previous loans and failure to issue new loans = money supply contraction
So, why would the Fed "skip" but not "pause"??
Because the banks are that fucked, and the Fed hopes that by pausing, and giving them more time to fix their balance sheets, they can get their shit together and prevent total systemic failure
>pro-tip: they can't fix their balance sheets
"Anon, what are you talking about, the banking system is strong and resilient!"
L o l. Yeah, that's why the bank usage of the Fed's Bank Term Funding Program has gone up, not down as time has passed. Everything is fine.

My view is the opposite. I think that we are heading into deflation and central banks are making the same mistake they made in 2020/2021. In 2020/2021 there were obvious signs of high inflation. Anyone who went to the grocery store knew that things were quickly getting out of control. Yet the Fed foolishly said "We're not even thinking about thinking about raising rates". They let inflation get out of control and then had to play catch up hiking rates quickly.
Right now the same mistake is happening. The ECB is hawkish, the BoE is hawkish, the Fed is still pretty hawkish. All the while deflationary forces are taking hold. They will hold rates way too high for way too long. Nu-Mumus will finally learn that deflation is not bullish for asset prices

Alright SMG. You made me a lot of money on JEPI, so consider this a thank you. I've worked in semiconductor industry for 10 years.

Micron (MU) reports earnings next week. They don't have any products that can handle the computing power required to power AI products. Not that the AI mania is real. But even if it was, MU has no exposure. Combine this with the effects of their China export ban, and slowdown in personal hardware sales. They will miss on earnings as well as miss on guidance because they cannot guide up the same way NVDA did because of their lack of AI exposure. They are going to be the first domino to fall in this bubble and cause the first initial selloff.

However, this will ultimately be a bear trap. Nvidia's (and AMD to a lesser extent) guidance is very much real as long as the AI craze continues. It is likely that a large sell off in MU will cause panic in the bubble and shorts will pile into these names. This will set up a beautiful squeeze trade into earnings for the real AI chip players. There will be MASSIVE differences in earnings/guidance between legacy chip companies and advanced chip companies. (IE Intel vs AMD, Texas vs TSMC, etc)

You will want to position yourself for a massive pullback in the AI mania for MU earnings. Take profit on the sell off. Let the normies panic sell and pile into shorts. Then come back with the profit and go long the real AI names (NVDA/AMD/RMBS etc) for the squeeze trade to return.

This is not financial advice.
