Daily reminder that finance is pseudoscientific make believe garbage and capitalism is inherently unstable, exploitative and unsustainable with a built in expiration date. Ever escalating recessions, poverty, debt, wealth inequality, monopolies, worsening labor conditions, disease, pollution, exploitation, slavery, conflict and wars are fundamental, necessary and intended principles of it, NOT glitches. Greed, selfishness, lying, cheating, stealing, competition, conflict, slavery and war and overall evilmaxxing are behaviors highly encouraged and incentivized under capitalism. It is LITERALLY cancer and i dont mean it metaphorically, i mean it literally, it shares the exact same functions and principles as a cancer cell.

Unless every single financier parasite, banker and trader is euthanized and every stock market and bank is burned to the ground, and the status quo completely abolished, the biosphere and all life will extinguished

Capitalism was created as a solution to the government-controlled monopolistic mercantalist system of the middle-ages and Renaissance in order to increase the amount of wealth on the planet, rather than just redistribute it like mercantalism did, but has been perverted to no longer create more real wealth, but to siphon wealth from the people that actually created it into the pockets of a handful of financiers and their friends via these convoluted monetary policies.

i am just treating them all the same, somewhat DCAing in as they drop substantially enough, increasing the size and frequency of injections as they seem to near or find support levels. this, of course, assumes a stock that shows an overall long term growth tendency, which is mostly all that i select, followed by long term crabbers. if I see my own little stash of NVDA drop by say 5%, i might make another small injection and then see what it does from there for a bit. if it seems to be the new support and indicative of having another upswing in its cycle then i might make that injection a bit larger.

I bought BALL today but looked at their 10k and 10q and got scared of their rapid increase in short term debt and the fact they are factoring their receivables and sold. I'm not a stock picker like that and don't really know what the sale of their aerospace decision will bring to the shareholders. Sounds like they need to sell it to pay that short term debt and the long term debt they issued at almost 7%.

i believe i more fear the seemingly likely trajectory of that spy wave. if you have a few hundred smaller boats in the fleet then it doesn't so much matter if one big ship goes down, you just feed the floaters and bale water out of the sinkers to keep them all in balance. BUT, who knows, maybe the line will just keep going up and it won't do anything like 2001 to 2013 again. too, i reckon it makes a massive difference what all levels you've already slurped at over time so that even if it takes a big tumble you're still in the green overall. present overall market conditions strike me as very, very dangerous.

I fired my advisor to try my hand at active management, and instead of just selling out of his positions immediately, I sold covered calls on illiquid tickers and after one of those fake and gay PPT Fridays I had just had enough and didn't want to wait the rest of the month for my calls to expire. So I just market sold every single position right before market giga pumped so ,y opportunity cost of not holding was probably $100k or so. And I realized a $50k day trading loss recently so between my realized losses and opportunity costs from not being patient I'm down probably $200k for 2022 and 2023 so far. Don't want to sound ungrateful because I'm still alright financially for now. But it just feels so bad to know you aren't honoring your dad's legacy by slowly pissing away everything he worked so hard for. But I have made a lot of changes to my mind body and soul since 2020 and I'm completely sober for the first time since I was 17. So while it is a lot of money lost, there are other things to be grateful for, and with some slight adjustments to my method of thinking I know I can be consistently profitable. Just need to taper those expectations and unironically stick to reasonable max position sizes and have the discipline to lock in the loss when I'm wrong. Stuff I know already and thought I was beyond, but when the time comes to actually practice what you preach I don't do it for various reasons. Mainly greed and fear of being wrong and how being wrong makes me feel. I'm going to ease back in slowly and actually evaluate a sample of trades and adjust as necessary.

There are many others out there from the SPAC/IPO boom of 2020-2021, but it's hard to predict if/when this type of takeover to profit off a silly balance sheet will actually happen. You could've bought into it as a net-net throughout half of 2022 and you'd still be at a loss vs this offer, assuming it even gets accepted by the board.

The *primary* factor is the charts though. I bought over 300 of them starting at $1 each and then go through them daily adjusting, adding to ones that seem to be positioned for upside. I watch them all and if I see one dip down 3 to 5 cents or more I go check the chart and see if it's in a better position (some of them were bought at the tops of cycles, but it's only $1 at initial risk so nbd to let it lose enough to indicate time to buy more). I am needing 3 more STOOKS in fact, to get my numbers to 333, so I might in fact do exactly so.

BTW, if you read my other posts on this subject, you'll see that you can turn just about any halfway decent stock into a good one. If it's already high, then start it at a very small amount (can you do fractional shares there?), then add to it and build as it get more into "support" zones, allowing those injections to get pumped up into the "resistance" zones. If you do that over time the effect will compound because you'll be building the overall amount that gets pushed back up in each new upside cycle. Just figure out the best possible way to surf the waves of whatever STOOKS you have available to you.

Do you think being a caffeine, alcohol, weed, and coke addicted coomer would help with risk management? Or unrelated? I have been heemed even when no fapping and being sober hence the relapse on porn after getting heemed, but still I think the mental discipline to abstain from all that crap is better than not. I would think if I have the discipline to stop all the substances and porn, them I should be able to have the discipline to properly manage my risk too. But I always try to buy the right answer instead of letting myself get stopped out or just not add anymore to a losing position and just wait and see what happens and be ok with losing 100% of a reasonable amount, vs scaling into a loser with too many dollars on the line and taking a catastrophic hit that wipes out a year of gains in one trade

Anything that alters consciousness is probably a good thing to avoid when trading. If youre interested in literature, read up on trading psychology and dopamine function in the brain. For example, gamblers get a dopamine hit when they place a bet, not when they get a payout. If your prefrontal cortex gets activated, it triggers your fight or flight response, which causes shit like exiting a trade early, fomo, or revenge trading. You want to be as close to emotionally dead inside as possible when trading

Separately, we cant be alone in the universe. I also exit trades early and will revenge trade. I find myself risking up to $30k to make $500 sometimes because I don't want to realize the loss when i only have maybe $1k or 2k on. I think the best way of being emotionally dead is to completely systematize the trading process which includes having predefined risk. I always tell myself I'll take my loss at x% but then when it's time to do so I just double down instead, and since I have bought the right answer so many times I feel like I can always do it. Works until it doesn't, then I end up feeling so shitty about it, and rightfully so, but I feel shitty about it for the wrong reasons. I'm mad at the market when I should be mad at myself for not predefining my risk in the first place.

>Robinhood enabled 24 hour purchasing of SPY
Real brokers have allowed 24 hour trading of major ETFs for a while now.

>Should I be monitoring it for good times to buy, or is it pointless to watch this shit after hours?
You need to zoom out on your chart first. Buying Sp 500 with less that 6 figures isn't going to do shit. Like zoinks Scoobs, finding an entry into SPY with 40k doesn't really matter. Just buy and get a better job and buy more.

You do realize any funds that track daily leverage (commodity, leverage, inverse, currecy or future backed etc) tend to lose money over time, resulting in reverse splits, yes? Theyre for retail and people that cant or wont trade the actual instruments or swaps themselves. You could hold both SOXL and SOXS and bleed out money, for example... the only winners are the fund managers and brokers.

It depends on the asset class and cherry picked starting date (and I only buy 2x or 3x to swing trade) but here's an example. 2x TSX has higher drawdowns but it still outperforms TSX over a long period of time.
