After a nice 3 day weekend thanks to Biden and his gaggle of niggers, I had to take a snapshot and send an email this morning all while listening to my trainee go on and on about his weekend. I really need to rest this afternoon after that jam packed morning, but I'm going to have to copy and paste 10 files! Can't a guy get a break around here?!

Today I sent an email that I prepared a week ago after finally receiving that updated screenshot I've been "waiting" for.

Anyone do the "overemployed" thing?

I currently have 1 full-time, remote gig but I only really "work" like 10 hours a week. I have another remote job offer on the table worth 1.5x what my current salary is. I was planning to take it and quit my current job, but I'm positive I can manage doing both.

Downside
>I will be working more, though still not 40hr/week
>May need to be "on call" and available during biz hours even if I'm not busy, so can't really leave and go do stuff
>New job has some miscellaneous company meet up things. Not obligated to attend, but I assume it's expected to attend at least sometimes
>AFAICT there's nothing preventing me from working 2 jobs, but maybe it's taxing mentally to be jumping from task-to-task across the 2 companies throughout the day

Upside
>Will make ~$300k/y instead of ~$130k/y
>Hedged in case I ever got fired from current job
>Can bank the extra money and reach my savings/investing goals quicker

Just quit the $130k/yr gig and work the $170k/yr gig as your main. Burnout is real and you're better off making 170 for 10 years than 300 for 3, eh.

what's everyone's job here? currently a wfh data entry wagie making only a measly 40k. i can go an entire month doing jack shit and just rushing all my deadlines at the last minute. but it's starting to feel old.

started seriously job hunting about a week ago to see if i can get into accounting or finance with just an AA in general studies and 3 years data entooring experience. any tips on breaking into a new field?

This was my original plan. But couldn't I also take both, not work for the lower one or work minimally and double up for a bit? Even if I got fired there I wouldn't care.

>>55354077
I used to do this and made good money for a while on Upwork. It was my primary income source for ~3 years. The ideal scenario is you sync up with a few long-term clients and engage as a contractor for them specifically rather than doing one-off gigs. That being said, it's a nice way to make a few hundred bucks on a gig if that's all you're looking for.

>>55354260
I do software engineering. If I were you I'd get a complimentary certificate in something then start applying. Can do something on coursera or whatever for a few hundred bucks.

I don't know your exact situation, but from my experience it's worth not burning a bridge if it can be helped.

WFH chads, what do you do if you have absentee bosses? I haven’t spoken to my boss in about 3 weeks, his boss is always gone too. So I just kinda do whatever I think needs to be done. Problem is, I think eventually they’ll come back, fire me to make an example, and I’ll lose my comfy WFH job.
>>55354260
where do you find these jobs? I want to apply for like 20 and then automate/outsource them all. Seems safer than jobmaxxing two difficult jobs.

>data entry
>accounting
you're already 80% there. look for any accounts payable jobs. it's literally just data entry to quickbooks

>> No.55356875

How the fuck do you get a wfh job at entry level anyways? I quit my job for a job offer that fell through last minute and have been living off savings for the past 8 months without even an interview. I did a bootcamp last year and have been grinding certs while unemployed. Pls advise anons

So I’ve been at this job for a bit. I won’t divulge what I do. The work has been somewhat sparse and I have consistently done everything asked of me on time while volunteering to do more too. Today my boss calls me and tells me my work isn’t up to standard. I have more experience than most of the team there. I don’t know what they want from me but I’ve got bills to pay lol, seems like they might have fired me right there. Every other company I’ve worked with has praised my work and I’ve always been a top performer. I’ve been stressed as shit ever since that call. And yes I wfh to keep this on topic.

what does your 'experience' have to do with actual work productivity? Are you a boomer wanting everything handed to you because you are old and unable to actually produce anything of value?

No, I know my work is good and it’s insulting to hear that. I have not made any fuckups. No negative feedback from any of my team and this is the first I’m hearing of it. They don’t give me work and then act like it’s my fault

serious just keep trying anon. It's a tough market saturated with jeets.
At least you didn't take business like me. I'm competing with chad and stacies. Am not kidding, I did like a seminar for recruiting night and soo many "good looking" people in the panel. It's like they discriminately hire.

They could be getting flak and passing the blame. Maybe ask what metrics you need to meet and then hit those. Could be many things, maybe you’re working hard on stuff that really isn’t that important, personality differences, etc. Or they just need a head to sacrifice to protect themselves for a bit and the new guy is an easy scapegoat. Usually though if you help your boss hit his metrics you’re safe.

It was dropped into my lap. I have an employment agency that I've done some work for that hooked me up. They saw me applying to a bunch of positions through their website and called me out of the blue one day to tell me about it. Did a little preliminary test to make sure i wasn't a tech illiterate boomboom then interviewed the next day and got the job.
