I picked up 11.1g of sterling and .66g of 10k gold at a charity shop yesterday, $8 for about $25 in metal. Better than nothing but it would take forever to build a hoard of fiddly bits like these. Heading out again soon to look for better cheapies, happy hunting frens.

I've always believed that BRICS would change things up but after 22 years of doing nothing but empty promises I've come to realize that they won't do shit.

Coupled with Russia suiciding it's army in Ukraine. China and India having an armed conflict with each other. South Africa collapsing because of incompetent leadership that can't even keep the lights running. Only Brazil is doing okay out of the BRICS countries.

And now with the US ban global chip ban against China China's economy will never be able to catch up.

The economy has crashed, 4 out of 5 of the largest bank failures in history happened in 2023, with the other one happening in 2008. The only reason everything keeps on plodding along is because governments and banksters know how to swindle the public by socializing the loses. Ultimately, this only ends when the masses refuse to use the debt note because the establishment can print to infinity. When will that be? Fuck knows, but we're not at the stage where people are disgusted to trade with it. This crack up boom needs a nasty jolt, with the only major one being the flooding of USD through de-dollarization that creates a panic out of it. Expect at that point for the propaganda from the state to be fired on all cylinders, and the state dependents crying to maintain the illusion of a stable economy.

The silver market is so small that only 7 bullion dollars are enough to drain the comex. Right now solar panels are draining the supply but it takes years to open up new mines and the price needs to be higher to do that. It doesn't even matter if the BRICS take over the world or not. The fact is that the USD is finished as a reserve currency. The bankers have known this for decades, and Catherine Austin Fitts has several nice interviews about that subject (planetlockdownfilm.com)
But they need to transition somehow to something else (likely a CBDC). The transition will be messy because there's so much debt floating around, much more debt than real assets. But they need people to still trust them somehow, so I'm guessing they'll just try to deflect the blame like they have a long history of doing. Otherwise I don't see how they can remain in control, if nobody trusts them after having their life savings wiped out due to Fed policy. At that point people would just start using silver and/or Cu/Ni coins.

We're no where near that critical point because there isn't a parallel global economy competing with US hegemony. This is why BRICS is talked a lot here because it represents a viable alternative. There has never been an alternative to the economic might of the United States until this past decade with China. The nation has more people than the United States and is currently the world's factory. That economic position is a threat to the United States that is also bolstered by other nations wanting to join that bloc. In short, the G7 is Europe with the US as top dog while BRICS is other global power houses with China as the top dog. The minor nations of the world will have a choice, the G7 or BRICS and considering how many of them have seen the USD being used as a political tool, you will find that they will choose BRICS instead. 2050 is when I think BRICS will be fully up and running, so dropping fiat for precious metals is the only way to preserve your wealth in this transitional period which is has only just started.

The world's factory is closed, xi doesn't give a shit he did it. The whole financial system is even more fucked up by debt than anything in the west. You really believe the propaganda, it's sad bro. Shits changed with Xi. It's not even about economics with the USD. It's about how large and freely traded it is. The bond market is huge, no one has been able to replicate it. USTs get traded back and forth many multiples more than they get held as a reserve. Trillions of contracts get written in USD. >China is fucked economically and demographically.

You bloody well know it's more complicated than that. The reality is that when you remove the fiat numbers bullshit, China has a much bigger manpower economy with the factories to back it up. That's what happens when you de-industrialize, you're more about consumption than production.

Anyway, the situation we have now isn't going to be the situation in the next ten years. Economies are slow turning ships and the west is already in the process of building nuclear power plants to bring those production factories back home. Will it be enough? I dunno. I just know that this game of empire is a race against the clock.

You are thinking about this backwards. The worse the BRICS are doing, the MORE likely they turn to gold. When the government farms in the USSR failed and the people were starving (and not just the ones Stalin wanted to starve) the government had to buy wheat from Canada. But the ruble was a joke. They had to use GOLD!

Gold is the one thing all the BRICS have that everyone values. And they don't have to have much of a functioning economy to use it. They just push it off a truck. The more they struggle, the more likely they turn to it. And they are not the only ones expecting gold to come into play. Central Bank gold purchases around the globe are hitting record levels. That's not so they can make jewelry.

Gold is on the move. Get your share now at the bargain price.

How many times does it need pointing out that BRICS is a developing alternative world economy to the G7 and USD as a world reserve currency. Right this very moment we're on the cusp on a potential change with China being the big dog in it. It's going to take decades if the world continues on the trajectory that it is. I fully admit that there will be complications along the way and could easily fail, but that's all huff in the wind to think about when none of that has happened, regardless of China currently having growing pains with its economy.

I'm not convinced that's true anymore. The world is not the same it was decades ago. The US is clearly afraid of losing influence, and they're reduced to desperate measures like useless sanctions, proxy war, and sabotage of its own allies' gas pipelines. Those are not the actions of an empire at its peak, it's one that's in its death throes, and will soon expire as the world turns their collective back to its empty threats.

I also found some private sellers selling for €440 - might consider if they agree to meet in person and for me to do the sound ping and magnet tests. Testing before purchase sounds fair, so long as you don't make the seller pay for it. But you don't need any fancy equipment, just some calipers and a precision scale that goes to 2 decimal places should be enough. You should be able to buy both for under $50.
You'll need to note down the exact dimensions and weight of the coin in question. And don't forget to test your test equipment beforehand, to make sure it's reliable, so you can return/exchange it if necessary.
Also a basic ping test might be a good idea, but I wouldn't make that the only test. It's just to see if there's a tungsten core (those don't ping gud).

This.
I wouldn't totally rule it out that BRICS are coming out with something, but let's face it:
They're all fucking shitholes.
India, in the literal sense.
China royally fucked up with their one child policy, so they'll get the incel uprising much sooner than the US.
Brazil, I actually don't know much about Brazil, so that's a wildcard!
Russia, well, even if they "win" their Ukraine special operation, they've now shown EVERYONE that they're rotten to the core and that their fable army is just a paper tiger. Who's going to respect a retarded looser? (inb4 >muh 4D Chess! Yeah, probably would have considered that after the failed attempt on Kiev at the beginning, but now we're clearly in >Niggah, WTF are you doing? territory)
And South Africa? This country is so broken, it's not even funny anymore. Just look at their state railways (or any other piece of infrastructure, really…) that they need to extract resources, it's all broken (or rather, sabotaged by various politically connected mafias, pic related).
So yeah, no.
They might be doing some shit, but it's gonna 100% be some stuff where every letter of BRICS is going to try to stab all the other letters in the back, in order to win a small advantage.

Gold was $1,700 last July. There's no reason why it cannot revisit that, but eventually $2,000 will become the baseline.

I would respond to a craigslist ad wanting to trade silver or gold for my second car as long as they would meet me at an lcs to verify the metal before trading. I'm broke, but I buy a little bit every payday.
It's not to protect my savings, I have none to protect.
It's just to chip away at COMEX, even if I can only do it an ounce or less at a time.

ASE's are legal tendies in the USA. When the sale is registered, you legally declare the face value of the purchase...

ASE's are a LEGAL 'loophole' for paying like 1/35th the sales tax versus fiat reported at the same value of trade...

Getting someone who trusts the tax code which is publicly available is still difficult... But if you DID get government coins rather than just bullion or rounds, this is how it's SUPPOSED to be done!

If you have your own land invest in it, by starting a garden. If you live in a place with harsh winters, I suggest building a greenhouse. Divide your land into crops and grazing land. Build a set of good strong fencing or stone walls if you can afford it. Anything 6 feet tall will be good enough to keep out most predators and keep your livestock in. Buy a couple of goats (natural lawnmowers that will piss everywhere including on themselves. Also get 9 hens and a rooster (They are natural bug eaters and shit everywhere including on themselves. Build a coop and a small barn. You can get meat, milk, and cheese from the goats, and meat and eggs from the chickens. You can turn all of the livestock crap into great fertilizer for next year and grow healthy crops on the garden side of your property. I haven't tried picrel yet, but it seems like a cool idea if you like the taste of fish.

They absolutely are. Silver is fantastic buy right now. There is a lot of upside potential with very little risk. If you want to get into gold, 1 ounce bullion coins or sovs/francs is the sweet spot.
Still, I can't help myself. I collect goldbacks. They are relatively new on the scene and I have been able to relatively cheaply acquire at least one example of all uncirculated bills. I got a good deal on 100 goldbacks for 3 bucks a piece which is around a 50% premium. I love slipping a goldback into my nephew's birthday cards instead of cash. It's great because it is 1/1000th of an ounce of gold in a fairly large form. Gold is my guilty pleasure and I don't mind paying a little more to just have a little.

I prefer silver though. I stack silver at a 500 to 1 ratio for gold. If you look at the ratio of it existing compared to gold, it's historic price, and it's new use cases in electronics it is absolutely preferable to gold unless you have a gay VAT. Tarnish might scare noobs, but there is no degradation of the metal. Silver is a fantastic store of value and it is criminally under priced right now.

Cash is untraceable. Even if I bought something with a credit card, maybe I sold it for cash later. It's not about being let off easy, right now, there is no way to reliably know who has PMs even if they were brought with traceable means or they post pictures on the internet. Worst case scenario it just stays hidden till the fascist elements of our government are rooted out. Realistically though, there is nothing they can do. The level of manpower needed to confiscate precious metals is not feasible. It is the same for firearms in America. Firearms have a 100% trace, but they won't be confiscated because instability and loss of life would be too high. PM's have probably a 50% trace, but also won't be confiscated because they can't be. Who is to say I didn't sell on a bump and buy on a dip. It's the whole reason they want CBDCs, at present though, They want to further taxation and increase control. There are so many plausible deniability's that it would be impossible to enforce legal confiscation of PMs. The best the govt can do is make it "illegal" to trade in them and I honestly don't see it happening in the age of the internet. Once it becomes clear that gold and silver are money, people are going to briefly wake up. This could be a major turning point in human civilization.....Things will return to normalcy until people inevitably become ignorant of money again and allow a parasitic upper class to siphon their wealth.

The PM chad will always be immune to fiat manipulation. Now is our time. It was actually 3-4 years ago and now is the time of moderate gains. If you bought 12 years ago things might seem pretty desolate. At the end of the day, if you buy an ounce of silver or gold, you will always have an ounce regardless of the price.

There are larger/different cycles, but the fiat cycle is that things bought with dollars appreciate in dollars
This time is coming to an end after 50 years. What will come, nobody knows, but PM holders should feel comfy.

No. Because it won't matter if I don't if that happens, and I highly doubt they'll bother, especially here. Besides my coins are all either Numismatic or have a face value on them, which is exactly the point of why they exist and aren't technically bullion, they're cash at face value, which means their worth is below any threshold also. That sovereign is a five pound coin, that's literally what it is. Britannia is £2. Silver crown is 25p. Etc etc.

Turn in what? My 25p (Crown)? Sorry I lost it in a boating accident, but I'm sure they can take me to court to redeem the face value of my stack, which literally isn't worth their while. Know the law. Buy coins which are minted currency with a face value.

CBDC will never fly. The world is already pushing back from the USD and that is only going to get worse as the dollar loses value. Why would the world accept an even sketchier shitcoin to replace a sketchy dollar? The answer is that they won't. And if the world won't accept CBDC, the US government will not be able to force it domestically because America is too dependent on world trade.

Besides, who would enforce such a law? There aren't enough Federal agents and local law enforcement won't help. So it ends right there.

It is a little overpriced, but if you like it go for it. At the end of the day it is better than a funkopop or a video game. The premium is exceptionally high. There is about $100 worth of gold in a $250 purchase so this would have to be a numismatic purchase or lifetime hold for you to make money unless there are dynamics in the escudo market I don't know about. Unless you are really interested in this time period, there are better options to spend your fiat for gold. Personally, I'd pass on this coin at that price.

It depends completely on what coins exactly you're buying. 10 dimes compared to 4 quarters is going to be a different price. That's why bullion sellers love to sell you $1 "mixed" so they can give you the least amount of silver.

One face dollar of any combination of 90% silver US coinage should contain about 0.715 ozt actual silver weight. So a dime would be 0.0715 ozt, a quarter 0.179 ozt.
Multiply the face dollar value by the current spot price of silver, and that will tell you what the silver content melt value is worth. Currently it's about $16.5/$face.
If you are willing to pay more, this at least gives you the base to work from. I see constitutional selling for $22 at a minimum.

That's not a certainty for the simple fact it hasn't already happened. The reality is that most people want stability over partisan politics and will do as their state commands. Revolutions only happen when the revolutionaries hold the office while the low level grunts tear the fabric of society down around them. We saw that first hand recently with BLM, where law enforces were told to stand back and let them burn and loot. This idea that gold and silver is going to win out over fiat when it implodes is a pipe dream. The populous WILL take on the newly denominated USD because it's all they know and will seek stability at the cost of liberty.
