I'm a driver and I make $10,000/month. Should I buy a house all in cash or get a mortgage? I'm renting it out.

>> No.55332959

If you can afford to buy all cash why would you borrow? Do you enjoy paying extra money for things?

Why don't you spend it on McDonald's? That's $333 worth of McDonald's a day, you could literally eat 40 Big Macs a day.

Mortgage, you can write off 100% of the interest on the loan against your rental income.

Some anons make a good argument about getting a mortgage with a low rate.
As long as you invest your house money and beat that rate per year then you came out ahead.
This of course assumes you like being a debt slave and you actually manage to have winning trades year after year.

He's a retarded liar who spams the same thread, but there are several ways to make this much as a driver
You could be a team driver for some high-speed account. Medium size carriers have a lot of these. Overall, team drivers do make the most for the freight they are moving, but they get basically no time off.
you could be a owner operator pulling normal shit, where netting 10k a month is the higher end of normal. Contracted owner ops moving hazardous shit, or oversize net about 30-40% more than this
The least likely situation is that he is some sort of government employee driving shit inbetween research facilities. They get paid a lot but your whole life is surveilled. Think Area 51 literally,

He could also be an owner-op or team driver for an expedited service, which handle time-sensitive packages, chemicals, organs, medicine, shit like that.

In theory land where everything works out, you get a mortgage and do this: >>55333506
In reality land just buy the fucking thing with cash and be done with it. You don't have to do business with a bank that is actively trying to fuck you and these days that is exactly what they try to do. They overstep and interfere and it's a much bigger and more expensive pain in the ass than it needs to be.

nobody buys houses with straight cash because it doesnt make sense financially
not even the mega rich, they go to specialized mortgage firms

Not OP (obviously), but I stepped back from the hospital to become a driver to deliver medical equipment and I'm just about hitting $10k a month (gross) after 6 months. I work a shitton of mandatory overtime and maybe even weekends and I basically have no work-life balance; but I'm single, with a few close friends, and no real financial responsibilities so it all works out. Hoping to leverage my position after a few raises in 2-3 years so that I'm making $120k/yr without overtime and I can sustain a relationship/life with a wife and kids + home.
So technically yes, you can make $10k as a driver but you're gonna need expensive licenses/schooling on top
