as far as I can tell, barely. APE has been stuck within a 3-4% band for about a month now, not a lot of meat on that bone. But I'm seeing puts priced on AMC literally for it to have 15-20% daily moves for the next few months. Clearly someone is buying a fuck ton of these puts... but why? It's just a simple total return chart from pre-covid to now. Meaning dividends reinvested for comparative purpose.
NAT was really overhyped for an extended period of time and continuously underperformed. Way too promotional.

Over the past 12 months it's done alright, closer to middle of the pack as the rising tide of Russian sanctions has lifted all boats.
But I wouldn't be surprised if they make some retarded moves soon and revert to their trend of underperformance now that the bullrun is largely over.

What I have done was look at picrel plus the zoomed in timeframes and seen that it is on and maintaining a fairly strong bullish trend, and bought a small amount of a dip within that trend. I assume to let that small seed grow as it does, perhaps feeding it little bits here and there, and should a sudden strong DIPPARINO occur then 1) i might buy more within it, *if* circumstances and bottom establishing seem to support that being a decent enough play and 2) i won't be out a devastating amount either way. In any long term analysis it's best to look at total return, or, alternatively to consider that dividends are a direct reduction of the cost basis (after accounting for taxes). Looking at price return charts like RH displays while ignoring dividends will penalize companies that more aggressively distribute their profits, and potentially cause you to miss out on some good seeds. Sadly, no matter how you search, you'll never be able to own the best names in the business like OET if RH is your broker. You'd need access to Oslo stock exchange.

As a note on timing - while I previously said the bull run is over, it is reasonably possible that tankers continue to have 4-5 more good years ahead due to the lower orderbook, and perhaps longer as fears of "peak oil" disincentive further investment. Refineries have a similar setup. I continue to hold names from both sectors.
But there likely won't be another year of 100%+ gainers.
