There's nothing really wrong with fixing air conditioners desu (among other things as a mechanical worker). Mechanical guys make quite a bit, like $45-50/hr minimum, and you can live anywhere because they're in need anywhere with buildings. You could be in a midsized city with a $50k/yr minimum for a good standard of living, and be clearing 6 figures easily. It's not like you have to live in New York or California and dump 6 figures every year into renting a 200sq ft appt
