A rural lifestyle is extremely unattractive to me with where I am in my life right now. At 30, with a wife and 4 kids, I want to be near resources that add convenience to my life and provide ample opportunities. I don't like the idea of ordering items and not having logistics companies delivering to my property, I don't like having to drive 30+ minutes to visit a store, or an hour to visit a hospital. I have extremely high quality services and merchants surrounding me - and in abundance.

That being said, some of the old-school suburban places are attractive to me, where you have a town and houses surrounding it but it's not quite a "city". It's more rural than city but isn't like the cookie cutter bullshit you see in most of suburbia.
