I have an overnight travel job. I like it. It’s not 100% of my job but I travel out maybe once every week or other week. I made 94k last year and my per diem is $100 daily. They pay for nicer hotels and I always get a rental car. Best part is, your time and labor is difficult to audit. No one knows what you’re doing other than what you report.

Construction is lots of hard work. Service is the opposite lots of sitting around waiting for calls or doing checklists. Also, staying in hotels most of the year makes you want to kill yourself.
