I was recently elected CEO of a company I work at in order to manage it's transition from a start-up to legit business.
>500k war chest
>Mostly remote staff
>Decent product (travel concierge service for UHNW)
>Demoralized staff with shit org structure
>All responsibilities are shared between all employees with no clear roles
Any actual CEOs here have to invent an org model from scratch? Is it worth it to make a plan early on or better to experiment and then put things on paper?

1. If you have to ask on 4chan you're too stupid for this job

2. wise CEO's ask their workers, top to bottom.

>> No.55109416

Yes there are real CEOs running real companies on 4chan.

Just pump up numbers for investors, sell and hop to the next chump org.

exactly this
CEOs dont care about the company nor the product. Mercantilists sell whatever sells and cut their loses once it no longer sells

Just have an 1-on-1 chat with each employee and ask them what they do, what they are good at and what they'd like to do,and then ask them the same question about their colleagues. You don't have to take the results into account but it'll boost morale because they'll feel heard, and it might help you figure out an org structure.

I don't know how a concierge services are normally organized. In general, I imagine there could be the customer-facing BU where individual people handle the interaction with a client, and functional BUs which are responsible for types of services provided, i.e. the traveling BU. Then the customer-facing BUs could themselves use the functional ones (like internal customers).
Since the clients won't want to deal with being "handed around" (which everyone already hates in regular customer support), it'd be important for them to have a dedicated "guy" with whom they talk, without them having to execute everything - that could be handled by the functional units.

You don't start a hierarchy "from scratch" you literally just have to use any on the standardized corpo structures with c-suit, their vice presidents etc. Literally work with HR into creating the roles and appoint people into those roles with written down metrics, tasks, goals, etc. This will make it easier to monitor their work as a bigger company with directors and shit.

Lel. I can tell you're not CEO material.

>>55109398
Definitely set goals. Figure right now you have a lot of turnover, if the benefits are good enough you have uninvested, stressed employees.
GL on making an org model, >>55111319 has a good direction. There are probably de-facto departments and people others recognize as leaders within the fog of war. Not necessarily the best people to give the actual management roles to but are a start.
I'm a non ceo unfortunately, dollars to donuts some are on here.

Dude do you need some extra staff?
So far I've heard from a friend that remote/tech support / office staff is completely retarded in the use of computers, and can't solve the simplest nigger monkey problems such as restarting a server when a cms service got all the fucking computers that were connected to it, to freeze.
I've been sending cvs for more than a year now and so far I've not gotten anything, do you happen to have any position open?
If it's remote i assure I'll work hard to keep it, and so overtime and shit is needed

Don’t be a bitch, harness your inner Carl Icahn and let the ones go that hide in the org or can’t really explain clearly what they do. Of course build an org structure but more importantly hire the right people that are inherently good with the structure when that time comes

>> No.55113241

>>55109398
I guess do a round table and see what immediate structural changes you can make, so people are doing what they are good at, and what's left over for work you can delegate then.
