For many people 200k is one alright home, but then what. Still need to pay taxes, still need to pay bills, still need food, still can't really "be free", most people with 200k net worth whether it's in a home or they're a renter with 200k are still stuck in the rat race. Of course they can earn a lot in the market, but they can also fuck up and lose a crap ton and be a decades long bagholder and working 9 to 5 with a 50k portfolio.
