As much as I believe GME is the real play, the amount of hype surrounding BBBY was uncanny. I think the MOASS-battle ground simply moved. Given the marginal nature of short selling, if they get underwater on a single short-sale then they are likely very hardpressed to make money other than to continue short selling. The way BBBY seemed to just collapse looked like complete desperation. Like when the Hudson Bay deal came out the shorts wasted no time attacking the stock price to get it under the threshold. After seeing the previous price runups in January an February, it would look suicidal to walk in and attempt to so aggressively short a company like that unless you were in a do-or-die situation. Maybe people were simply dogpiling because of the talk of dilution but BBBY was walked under $1 far too early imo. Something weird is going on for sure and I am of the opinion it is related to GME in multiple ways.
