>don't own a house yet, me and my wife/kids still rent
>Dad offered to bank roll me to buy a multi family home so we can start to generate extra income and build up equity
Am I retarded for NOT taking this option? Should I get a house first? He said he will take the mortgage out in his name and use my inheritance for down payment so there's really nothing coming out of my end in the immediate sense. Feels weird doing this when I still rent

I have literally never had my face between the buttcheeks of an attractive woman, and yet you want my advice

I hope your cringe "family investment property" fails good sir. National capitalism is the way, whereas becoming a scummy landlord is not.

I have no intention of being a scummy landlord, as I still rent so I know what it's like. I'd be a good one.

If you don't take his offer you will regret it for the rest of your life.

I dunno sounds super risky. Id report your dad to the authorities before things really get out of hand.

What if you lose your job and can't pay the mortgage, though?

Most landlords are also renters so it's not weird. The only reason to buy a property is to earn income from it. Not live in it.
