For those of you working long hours (80+/week), how do you do it? How can people like Elon sustain doing this for so many years?

they don't actually work 80 hours a week.

No social life + working remotely + mom cooks meals and cleans. I don't recommend it. Elon takes adderall and sleeping pills, and has people to cook and clean for him.

Imagine a gamer bro playing video games all day everyday. Now imagine somebody doing that just for work hours. It's a behavioral addiction for some, and others it's just being cucked by their boss. I've seen both.

80 hours of running a business you own isn't the same thing as working 80 hours for someone else. Also people like Elon calculate their hours per week as follows: "I'm always working except when I'm not. I go to the gym for 2 hours a day and sleep for 8, so I'm working 14 hour days 5 days a week. Then, on the weekends, I like to relax a little, but I'm also still sort of working on my business because I'm thinking about it all the time and the relaxation is really to keep me at my best to work on it, so I only really do 10 hours a day on the weekend. My math therefore says I work 90 hours a week."

pretty much the same as me. Been working 15 hours a day M-F and keeping the weekends just working 6 hours, gym, then trying to maintain some social life 2nd half of the day + meal prepping/freezing food for the rest of the week. Not sure if addy would help. Tried modafinil in college and it just made me feel fucked most of the day.

Games give me constant dopamine. I guess that's the secret. Make your life so boring that work gives off dopamine

I work a remote job (1-2 hours a day of work) and my own biz as much as possible rest of it. Got to keep up the pace to beat out the competition. If I "win" it means I'm set for life in a few years. Worth it imo

In my experience, the people I know in the trades who work 80+ hours a week are capable of doing so by sacrificing their social life and (sometimes) abusing drugs. And when you're guaranteed to make a big paycheck after all of your hard work, it's pretty easy to get in the routine of consistently waking up, putting in 10+ hours, and going home in preparation to do it all over again.

by lying to you (by paying PR firms)

He doesn't actually live anywhere so he has no actual responsibilities or chores
