Don't listen to the rest of these morons. I've set up shell companies in the Caymans for wealthy clients. The idea of a shell company comes from crabs; the company is protected by a hard, bony shell (preferential shares and supressed director list) and if you try to attack it, the claws will get you (lawyers sue your ass off)
