I only do because I care about them, but never explicitly tell them I stack. I only said I got some from my dad for my birthday and I have some silver coins from older relatives. My dad casually stacks silver rounds for fun, bought a bunch for my mom for her birthday last year. My mom recently wanted to get him some for his birthday. She surprised me when she said she wanted 1 oz of each silver, gold and platinum. I made sure she understood what that cost and she knew. Helped her choose what to order and she did a bank wire the day after. My moms more based than I thought. She does wire art and is neck deep in copper too.

Looks like an Elsa Peretti pattern? I don't personally like it much but go for whatever you'd truly enjoy using. Towle's simple Art Deco "Symphony" pattern from 1931 is one of my favorites. Expect to get ~90% of melt value selling silverware to a refinery, rather less to a pawn shop or LCS, and maybe a good deal over spot if you have a rare/desirable pattern and sell it on eBay (old Georg Jensen and Tiffany stuff always seems to sell for a high premium). Since most sets from the standard sterling manufacturers just sell for around scrap value on eBay.com it's easy to get one without paying over spot and then justify the purchase as simply being an atypical form of bullion.

It's only an investment if you buy it second hand for cheap. The mark up on brand new silverware is absolutely ridiculous compared to it's spot value. Like x6-8 spot, and when you will list back on ebay, you can kiss the premium goodbye, it will sell for lower than rounds. Silverware is a scam if you buy it new, but super based if you get it for below spot on ebay. And you regularly can find complete sets on sale.
