It's still up 200% from two years ago before the record US money printing retard. The price stopped sky rocketing when the US stopped printing money by the trillions of dollars. This is going to change when they raise the debt ceiling again. The US is $30+ trillion in debt. By 2040 they will be $60 trillion in debt. By 2050, they will be $120 trillion in debt.
The US government, right now, is paying $1 trillion in interest payments alone for this year. These politicians are worse than an 18 year old with a credit card. Everything will continue to rise in price against the USD, including BTC. Good day.

I mean everything went up by a lot when the US was printing money. I'm a full-on turbo craptotard, but, imo, it's going to take a while before BTC can become a full-on hedge against inflation. Until then it's going to swing a lot in value.

Unless something better is made before then, not that i have anything in mind, or think BTC isn't good enough.

bruh. BTC swings a lot in value compared to literally all other currencies as well. It's closer and closer tied to SP500 movement and other macro macro economics.

Everything is controlled by supply and demand. And for now, the demand is simply not at the point, where the price won't fluctuate a shitton, simply because it hasn't really proven it's worth yet.

Until people have a proper understanding of how crypto works, vs how our Fintech works, the majority is NOT in the hand of early adopters in crypto (exchanges and market makers/liquidity providers), and until there aren't more (3rd world) countries using it as currency, it's going to stay volatile and not dependable.

>> No.55022849

>>55022763
>Hey retard, it's not the price of BTC wildly moving. It's the value of the USD.

As someone who worked in the industry, I can tell you there is zero (0) chance of this happening

Bitcoiners typically tend to forget that most people really do not give a shit how it works, and do not give a shit about the problem its intended to solve. In fact, when the situation is explained to them, you find they're actually happier to pay a bank to take all the custodial risk for them, they don't want to be responsible for securing their own money. This is why banks exist in the first place. Everyone being able to view your transactions publicly is also a non-starter for 99% of people.

When it emerged that Bitcoin wasn't going to scale without taking it off-chain (defeating the point), the narrative shifted to muh store of value, which has completely failed with normies - it's viewed as a speculative insturment precisely because it is, only retards would keep more than a nominal % of their wealth in it

So far Monero is the only crypto that has succeeded in its goals because it realised it was a currency for usage-only, by people who needed or wanted to hide their transactions. That's it.

And i have some understanding of how the Tech of the banks work, and from my perspective, Crypto in general is a more effective tool.

Idk if it will be BTC that will "be victorious." or PoS or PoW, but one day Banks will 100% be using cryptocurrency, and i'm not talking about blockchain technology.

They will end up saving so much money, and at some point, there will simply be too much competition from DeFi, so they will be forced to use it.

Sorry, should maybe have specified that i meant the upper half of most people. Not the average citizen, but not just a small group either. Especially when large groups of people without an IT background has a decent grasp on it.

It would need a capital control event and banking failure that is bigger than 2009 and the current one for normals to understand the purpose, which they will forget as soon as the system stabilizes.
So unless governments and corporation go, for whatever reason full on authocratic dystopian control, normans will not get it and you are right. And even in the event of such a situation most normans will just bow down to whatever dystopian "solution" they get offered by the biggest faggots in the room

i don't know bro, the digital gold narrative is what works for me. Gold is a store of value, and its price can also see big swings over time. The difference being that it's terrible to physically move, you can't pass the border with a car full of gold bars, same goes for planes etc. Gold-like store of value which you have with you at everytime, everywhere you go, that's all. The global ledger ensures that, unlike a physical object that can be just taken from your pocket or house, no one can claim that a certain sum of btc doesn't belong to you - the whole world knows which wallet it belongs to. There is (a lot of) intrinsic value in these properties.
>and do not give a shit about the problem its intended to solve
The problems are the same that gold fixes, but btc fixes them better. Simple as that. So in your narrative the average normie is probably not interested in gold either; if they are, then they'll eventually see the value in btc.

What other currencies? The Yuan? It's pegged to the USD. The Argentinian Peso, the Turkish Lira? Wildly moving. The Euro? Wild and crazy. It lost so much value even compare to the USD. It used to be 2:1 to the USD, now it's close to 1:1. Yeah, jew fiat fluctuates wildly. Governments print it like crazy.

Yeah. I think moving wealth across national borders is maybe the one real use-case bitcoin has.
It seems to me like its still a major problem to not be anonymous though. Pretty sure there are laws against moving undeclared currency across borders. If you have to declare it since its on a public blockchain, wouldn't you be better off just using legacy finance at that point?
